Hi, am so frustrated with the Internet connection I'm getting or the lack of it should I say particularly when trying research. I'm with Talk Talk and over the last three weeks have either had no Internet at all or it is very sporadic. Start doing something, it goes, comes back for a few minutes then goes again. I have been on to Talk Talk at least six times and get nowhere apart from them sending me a new router. Worked fine for a day then the same thing happens. Unfortunately my Contract doesn't end until the end of March. I pay £30 a month for a free to view box which doesn't connect to the Internet, I get so called Internet, line rental and free evening and weekend calls. Can anyone suggest a good ISP please. I don't really need the free to view box as I have free view channels on my TV and moreover I'm not bothered about sport or films. I work full time so am not at my computer much during the week but do check for messages in the evenings. |

Thank you. I have been trying to research the different providers but sometimes it's good to hear from people as to which ISP they use and, as you are, that they are happy with the same. Was with AOL for years and no probs but then received a letter to say Talk Talk were taking them over. |

My mother has TT and it works perfectly Inc YouView but only since she got the Bt Openreach phone socket upgraded so it links to fibreinthecabinet. before that is was dreadful. BT charged £ 60. Now she has yakity yak to her OZ rellies. |

Hi Rollo, thank you for your input. Maybe this is what I need but am so frustrated with them at the mo that am just looking to change providers. It drives me nuts, it's gone off several times already since I sent my last reply. |

We were with Plusnet (part of BT group but operating separately). We had no problems until we moved 6 miles away. Then we had so many problems that we changed to BT. Have been with them for 3 years and are very happy so far. |

The old type copper home socket to copper in the cabinet will give on av 6 Mb sec upto 10 Mb sec and often far less. It is up to the householder to sort this out not the Isp. A modern connection requires 10 Mb sec min 30 Mb much better. |

Thank you again Rollo. I'll keep looking into the different providers but as I've said before it's good to hear first hand from other folk as to what they use and if they are happy. Excuse my language but the bloody thing keeps cutting out and I have to wait a few minutes before it decides to come back on again. Sorry to moan but it's just so frustrating. |

Barbra is correct. After Openreach ug the socket TT gave her the full package free for 6 months and another 6 months half price after that. currently she gets 60 Mb and the connexion is rock steady. |

We are with BT and quite satisfied. They are very good if anything goes wrong - just a quick phone call, and, if necessary, they will take over your computer and fix it. |

Talktalk have a new dual band router 2.4 / 5 Ghz available. 5 Ghz is much better inside houses. |

We have BT Broadband ( Infinity) and we are happy with our service but, over the last 7 days or so, we seem to lose Wi Fi connection at roughly the same time each evening. |
