What it means is that while they were changing the site their transfer process would have had priority over any actions we were doing.

When I tried to get on yesterday I found it OK for some boards and even My Threads but I couldn't access the General Board. Presumably that board took quite a long time to transfer.

I shouldn't think it will change the occurrence of the error message. Those who suffer from it will continue to do so.

Have just opened this reply email. What do you all make of it??

The issue is that we upgraded the site so that every single page was moved to HTTPS meaning it is 100% secure on every page.

Clearing the cache should fix the issue as it has for others.

Can you try logging in using a different browser even temporarily to see if this stops this for you.

We are not a technical help desk and are only customer service and we are doing all we can to help. It really is just a browser/caching issue as opposed to anything else sinister.

If you need any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us again.

??????????????????

Could be Det.
Cynthia, I wanted a 'like' button for your post Lol!!
Joy dean put a post on a thread of mine on facebook where she pointed out to GR that the error problem goes back 10 years!!!! their answer was it was passed on to their technical team who were working through problems and they didn't know how long it would take to solve the error problem. :-D :-D :-D

Tried for a good 50 minutes to get on yesterday!

Every other website was ok.

Very frustrating, I don't come on here every day, and I had some info to put in before I forgot it!

Support posted on the findmypast Facebook page yesterday.
Apparently there was an ‘Outrage’ they’d been dealing with.

Could that have been cause of GRs problems? They are owned by the same company.

I've started to message Support each time I get the dreaded error message. So far, I have been advised to make sure my 'cache is cleared' - (standard reply) and that they were sorry I was 'having trouble in resetting my password' eh?? :-S

I am now waiting to be told to get dressed before I log on. :-D

For the past few weeks I've found the error message if I'm trying to add to a thread late at night, not so bad during the day.

Ok getting on, but my first posting to a thread received the dreaded error message after timing out. Pressed the back arrow and then into 'my threads' and there was my post showing :-S

Several other posts also took their time to appear, but at least they avoided the error message :-)
