I will just put this up again.

On Thursday, OH and I are going to visit the Wartime Cafe on the C&V Business Park in Lutterworth and would be pleased to meet anybody who lives close by.

I have been to Leicestershire, I know where I am going so do not require any tourist information. Neither do I need to read any mad up twaddle about whatever it is you wished your ancestors had really done.Nor, indeed, do I have any interest in where your favourite cousin lives!

Yes, somebody had got on my wick again!

wish I could meet up with you, but I'm a wee bit too far away :-D

Have a great time, anyway.

I'm only about 17 miles away, but we have something planned for Thursday which is a pity. We go to The Elms near the Aeroplane Island at Lutterworth on Sundays and pass that cafe on the way. The Elms do a nice carvery, medium size (called small) for less than a fiver. Oops, apologies for the tourist info! Hope you have a nice time, although I think rain is forecast at the moment.

Hope you enjoy what you have planned.

Thank you for telling me about that pub.Don't mind a bit of empirical information but I was given a load of freshly Googled generalization and some fresh BS, say no more.

"u really are a sad sack"

Whatever that might be..shouldn't this be on the other thread about sayings that confuse.....

Play nice Rollo there's a good boy

Careful now, Caroline!

My 'confusing' thread is meant to be light-hearted, if nothing else.

Having a bit of fun in troubled times is an essential part of society. Harmony is more than just hairspray in our multicultural country.

You've got me curious about the cafe now as we have never been in although we pass it every week so please report back! Yes The Elms do small, medium and large, but the small plate is the same size as the medium ones at other places and is still a good helping! lol. I hope you have a nice time, :-)

Always am careful Dermot, not sure this was meant to be a thought-provoking thread, certainly not an insulting thread......shame some can't just be nice and follow the advice their Mum probably gave them....if you can't be nice be quiet.

Sorry I didn't report back last night. I was looking very picturesque on the sofa, mouth open, bit of dribble, snoring loudly until 2a:m when I dragged myself up to bed.

It was a good experience but, sadly, they can't be a authentic as they would like because proper war-time food doesn't sell so the cakes had to be modern looking and iced.

OH enjoyed his toast and dripping and his Spam sandwich and then forgot to but a pot of dripping for home.
