you can't "put it to bed", if by that you mean closing the thread!

Just can't be done on GR!!

If you don't want any more comments, you have to delete the thread, it cannot be closed.

Hence the misunderstanding! Say "I'm off to bed" or log off & disappear.

Most people take the phrase 'Put it to bed' to mean 'it's complete, no more attention/work needs to be done'. :-)

Hi Barbara,

In answer to your OP, you have only to read through this thread to see why.

A good example of being so petty and ridiculous to get ones knickers in a twist over a harmless post.

Its doing nothing to encourage other people to post. In my opinion, the exact opposite.
