Caroline, in response to your reply at 22:24, when I lived in Southsea, boyfriend and I had an argument in our local.
I decided to teach him a lesson, and started trying to chat up the other blokes in the pub.
They were very nice, offered to buy me drinks, etc. but they were all gay!
This was before it was an issue, this wasn't a 'gay bar', just a darned good pub (Royal Albert, Albert Road, Southsea), but I haven't been there for 40+years.
They (the blokes I tried to chat up) had heard us argue, and thought it hilarious - so did I, to be honest :-D

At the same time, I was working as the general receptionist at Portsmouth Dockyard.
This meant, all 'Dockies' wanting to see someone in power came through me.
I used to ride a bike to work - as did most of the 'Dockies'.
There was nothing so powerful as Portsmouth Dockyard leaving work through 'Unicorn Gate' on their bikes at 4:30 on a Friday. The cars came to a standstill :-D
I sometimes used to pop into a pub or two on my way home.
There was nothing so secure as walking into a pub, to be greeted by someone as big as the proverbial brick wotsit, dressed as a flamenco dancer greeting me with 'Ooh - hello Miss XXXXX'
....'And how do you know me?' was my response.
''I'm Frank, I came about Trades Union stuff this afternoon. I leave at 4 so I can get ready for the weekend' :-D :-D :-D :-D

What she says enforces what I said I think. If nobody felt it their place to pry and poke into anybody elses sexual orientation and preferences, then a lot of problems would be alleviated.

I recall reading on here once about a man who was arrested and fined,I believe, for gaining some sort of sexual pleasure from his own bicycle, in his own room. What business is that of anybody?

By all means, help and support people who encounter problems brought about by the way they are dealing with are dealing with their orientation but it is only the problem that is your concern.

Support it is what is needed for anyone going through 'coming out as Gay or Trans Gender Fluid or whatever'
If it was my Son or Daughter I would support them through everything ,even if I might struggle .It is not a choice to be Gay or Transexual ..I know some people think it is a choice . I didn't choose to be heterosexual .That is the way I was born :-D
When I was a little girl we had two ladies who lived next door (this is back in the late 50's) they were just 'friends' but were Lesbians .No-one batted an eyelid .They were just Miss Macfarlane and Miss Jackson.( I can say names as they are long gone now)
Everyone is entitled to live their lives without prejudice .
