We switched it off too Joan for the same reasons. We have enjoyed the other episodes but this one was just farcical

I can understand why some switched it off. I made it to the end but have come away not understanding how they were actually connected to the people we met. ( is not those that were namedropped).

I watched it all, and found it quite interesting, and sad.
Most of us can get beyond our grandparents.
Due to the system negating their existence - they couldn't.

Imagine your father/grandfather being embarrassed to mention they fought against the Nazis, because that sacrifice did nothing to alter the downtrodden life in your own country - it did nothing to change attitudes towards you, because of your colour and culture.

I did have to laugh when they met the royal family - probably not what they expected! :-D
