What was the name of the actor that played William Tell. I had quite a crush on him, he had a lovely smile! LOL Was it Conrad something? Only 2 channels back then Brian! I think ITV started in 1957, before then it was just the BBC. BBC2 started about 1967 I think. Sue xx |

I could not agree with you more Dee. I remember that series so well ( but, you understand, I was only six months old at the time ). The actors were all British with not a hint of Austrian/German/ unrecognisable accents. It was in black and white ( on my dad's telly ) and I always had the best seat in the house. I can't remember which day of the week it was............... but I always hurried home to be there for when it started ( ok... so I started school early ). There were so many programmes in those days that, with just a little bit of manipulation, could attract a TV audience of today. By the way........................ does anyone remember Four Feather Falls ??? |

Hi Ros, yes I remember the Monkees, even had an album of theirs, (don't let on to Muffy though, I forgot to confess to that one) Brian BBC2 came into being in 1964, so before then there would have just been the two ;-)))) |

Brian ........ I am so pleased that you remember it also. I was beginning to feel that it was all a bad dream. And that programme always scarred the **** out of me for some reason ! And yes............. I do remember Torchie the Battery Boy. But perhaps we can discuss it another time ? |
