one of my best friends at school
her nan had 21 kids all girls
and all names after flowers :-D

People often joke that, when they've had a few kids, they could start a football team. That family had enough kids for 3 football teams. They could've been in a league of their own. :-)

I thought my grand aunt was a bit keen.......had three with her first husband and 7 with the second........married first time in march at 17 1st babe 25 December 2nd next 24th dec, third following january12 month....4th 1903,1904,1906(must've had a headache)1907,1910 another headache,1912,1914

OH's gt grandfather was one of 20 children ................ all survived into adulthood.

However, less than half of them seem to have married


Most of the babies were born about 18 months apart, the first one only 5 months after the marriage ................. the mother was pregnant for most of 32 years


she died young, in her late 50s, of heart trouble :-(

One family line iam researching had 21 children, 6 sets of twins, this was from the 1950's both parents died in 2007 and 2008.

Said in Newspaper article in 2007 that in 1965 they were listed in Guiness Book of Records as most sets of twins, and given International coverage. This was in Westport Co Mayo.
