Sorry Janey didn't see your Edit

Were the ones you found Cassandra Florence and Frederick Benjamin Thomas, I actually got the death cert of Cassandra Florence thomas by mistake in 1933. But did eventually find mine in 1923.

Oh bu*$er, guess they don't wanna be found, excuse my french!

Nah, they were Wood, a Benjamin born sometime 1901-1911 with mother Cassandra about the right age, but they were in Derbyshire and obviously belonged to the Benjamin Wood marriage (BW senior must have died) in Chesterfield pre-1900.

Any chance Benjamin was actually born after 1911? Well, that would have made Cassandra a little old ...

Haven't got a clue, sorry!

Thought he may have been born abt 1901-1906 rather than after 1911 as Cassandra was 40 in 1901, thought that might make her too old.

Also thought there may have been an age restriction in being an informant on death cert, put up another thread abt that but didn't get any yes/no answers. One suggested asking at a RO.

Thanks for your help!

A thought -- you said:

"I found a death for Shem in 1933 in Bridgend"

Isn't that likely to be the other one from the 1911, too?

Name: Shem Thomas
Death Registration Month/Year: 1933
Age at death (estimated): 76 = c1857
Registration district: Bridgend
Inferred County: Glamorganshire
Volume: 11a
Page: 782

Although there's also this one:

Name: Shem Thomas
Death Registration Month/Year: 1935
Age at death (estimated): 79 = c1856
Registration district: Pontypridd
Inferred County: Glamorganshire
Volume: 11a
Page: 504

(The one in 1911 was slightly older so that's likely him.)

So there are enough death records to go around, it seems. ;)

Hi Janey,

Sorry for the delay in replying, haven't been on here lately.

Think I found that death in 1933 before the death index was transcribed, but thanks for the other one, ( have only found a baptism in 1857 no birth for him so 1856 could be his birth yr) maybe that certwill hold some clues!

Thanks for looking and helping!
