Thank you Julie

A very fraustrating morning, one years research found to be worthless, but lots of lessons learnt.
At least now I have something to work from.

Thanks again

Thanks catherine, i did do that last year before I took out a years sub, it's just run out, and boy am i in trouble, cause as you know it's not cheap, husbands right, with 7 children i'm being a little selfish with the run up to xmas, but he has no idea how addicted I am now to my genealogy :)

I'm just going to have to be patient and wait for the new year but I want the info like yesterday lol my impatience and my genealogy interest do not mix well :)
Thanks for the advice though

Just recieved this email from my uncle, over a year we have been researching together and now he tells me this:

Hi
The Grout family. I remember my great grandmother Harriet who lived with my gran(ROSE) at the end of WW2 in st loys road in tottenham. I also knew my great aunt Amy and her sons who lived in stoke newington. Rose,Amy and Lielly all looked very similar. Amy even in her 80's did not have a wrinkle in her face. Tiverton Rd was often referred to now I know why.

(bangs & bangs & bangs head) Is it a man thing do you think? lol

I think your right, I know from another branch of the family that hoxton/bethnal gn/camberwell seem to get very mixed on census info, and he is still a boot mender.
Thank you xx

Oh Deborah, congratulations!
With seven children, eight including hubby, how on earth do you find time to have a hobby like this.
Mind you, with seven children it must be nice to escape for a while and it's always good to have something else to do other than shopping, washing and cleaning up.
Your uncles not the only one! Men always think that women are mind readers and take it for granted that we know everything that they know.

I was thinking about Lielly and, depending on the pronunciation, could it be that her name being Eliza, that got changed to Lizzy, then over time the pronunciation got changed to Lielly. Maybe one of her sisters couldn't pronounce her name properly, as it often happens, called her Lielly and it just stuck.
Just an idea!

Hi Debby,
Just remember that we are here and can look up info for you.
Not the same I know, but at least your search would not grind to a halt.
