Hi
I have just got into the 1911 census, I'll try and make sense for you, I have always had John Banks 1861 Liverpool married (carnt find the marriage) to Mary Ellen ? 1877 ? died 1965 Liverpool, in 1911 census I have him married Charlotte, and when I look at the childrens ages I see there is a possible 2nd marriage and they have a child I didnt know of which is a twin to my nan Elizabeth Ellen (twin is Eliza) and one I did have on the tree is missing Marie ....they also state they had lost a child, other odd thing is , on my nans marriage cert it has her father as a stonemason but on the 1911 census he is a Carter, My grandad is living with them and we knew him as James but he is on as Harry James, very confusing, can anyone find a 2nd marriage to a Charlotte around 1900 and a missing child death, will help immensly, crackin me up ...lol

Colin, first obvious question is - are you sure this is your family in 1911??

have you looked at the imag to see how long John and Charlotte have been married?

RutlandBelle

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:31

I presume this is the birth of the youngest child on the 1911 John Banks

Births Mar 1911 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Banks John W. Derby 8b 594

Colin

Colin Report 17 Dec 2009 15:33

it says 28 yrs , there is a gap from one that is 15 yrs and the next being 7 yrs then the youngest is 3 weeks old the eldest is 23 and the twins are 20 and there is a 18 yr old, Charlotte I hadnt heard of, so assuming a 2 nd marriage

RutlandBelle

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:34

this is the only marriage coming up for a John Banks marrying a Charlotte

Marriages Sep 1902 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Banks John Edwin W Fylde 8e 1347
Goode Charlotte Fylde 8e 1347
Hamilton Sarah Ellen Fylde 8e 1347
Moore John Fylde 8e 1347
Ward-Banks John Edwin Fylde 8e 1347
the last name is a correction to the first name, but I see thta the John born in 1911 was John W Banks

Colin

Colin Report 17 Dec 2009 15:34

yes youngest is JOhn

RutlandBelle

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:36

If Charlotte was only 34 she couldn't have been married to John for 28yrs

Colin

Colin Report 17 Dec 2009 15:38

So must have been a 2nd marriage ,
which you may have found in 1902 What is Fylde, is this a district ....

RutlandBelle

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:40

Colin out of curiosity I have looked at the image. Very confusing!
All the children are down as brother or sister in relationship to the head and not son or daughter

RutlandBelle

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:41

yes FYLDE is a reg district in Lancashire and includes :

Blackpool; Blackpool North; Blackpool South; Fleetwood; Kirkham; Lytham; Lytham St. Annes; Poulton le Fylde.

I had this thought, but he must have put the kids down as borther and sisters instead of Son and daughters , mistake on his par, Have heard relatives talk of them as the kids to John

RutlandBelle Report 17 Dec 2009 15:45

I see that against his 'brother' Robert he has written married under 1 yr. Where is his wife?

Thhas similarities, will look again at it and campare the ages and speak to my Uncle, there is no Ada in this family, have been on this for months and when the 1911 census I got yesterday blew everything out, espeically if it is right, my nan had a twin, I was young when my G/dad died and not alive when my nan died, but great nan lived longer than her daughter...and was known as nan...
