Find Ancestors

On my track of my Gleeson family. yrt another disappearing act.
Lucy Gleeson born Exeter Devon 1886.
in 1891 with her Aunt Mary Thorn,Exeter- (nee Gleeson) -and in 1901 at Preston Street Exeter.
Have tried Free BMD for a marriage or death-Nothing
Have tried 1911 as a blanket 'Lucy gleeson' and with Devon or Exeter. Nothing
Any suggestions as she's just 'gone'. She could well have been in some sort of penitentary or something. But cannot spot her. I know some of you like a challenge!!.

Her parents were Patrick (dead) and Eliza (nee Allen). Not sure where she is either. she was born in Exeter 1856.
Any help would be lovely as she is one of the sorry last to find!

might be me but can't find her as Lucy Allen in 1911

they are such a nightmare!
maybe she did get away. But they didn't seem to have a brain between them-so a school teacher may have been ambitious-but not impossible I guess if she made the effort.

I'll have a look at the New york image when i can get to library now I know thats there.-thank you-No I don't have her birth-They didn't seem to register many of them (Prob because they weren't absol sure of parentage for some!) That birth is interesting though. will have to check it out on 1891 and see if there is anyone else with that name. Thanks everyone. You're finding more than me!

Sorry-did I confuse-she wouldn't be Lucy Allen in 1911-thats her mothers maiden name-Sorry if I put it down odd.
I only have her as Lucy Gleeson-but nothing after 1901.

Also missing are children called Maggie/Margaret Gleeson born Exeter 1889 and Eliza Gleeson born Exeter 1887. They were children of John Gleeson and Mary Duffy Gleeson-an awful pair. John died before 1901. And in 1901n the two children are in a charity home in Plymouth. I have no idea what happened to their mother mary (who was a nightmare!) and may be in an assylum or prison . They also Vanish! after 1901.
Thought I'd put this on here rather a new thread as it all sort of goes together-else I end up overlapping. If anybody would like to help I'd be more than glad-but please don't if you don't want to!!!

The one who arrived 1909 aboard the Lusitania was 56 years old and a US citizen. So maybe scrub that one too!

And the ladies vanish!!!!!!!!! Deary me, your Gleesons are a headache, do they like to hid like this all the time???

Margaret was around the Plymouth area in 1901 so sadly this maybe her death??

Ha ha-Thats so funny! Thanks so much for checking them out anyway. Saved me a trip to the library for the Lusitania (My great grandad was crew on that actually!)
I will keep digging later. Have to go and cook kids tea now or I'll be in trouble! Thanks again for your suggestions.It eliminates a few more anyway LOL

Just saw possible for Margarets death-I would say quite likely. None of them lived to be more than about 30 or 40-so poor I guess. I have been in touch with the Charity Home records-but they have nothing of that time. They were very nice though and told me it wasn't necessarily for orphans-but could be just poor childern where parents were unable to cope too. Must go now

I just wondered if this may be 'Eliza' from Exeter born 1887 and last known in Plymouth in 1901?
