My puzzle is I can find Betsey/Elizabeth with lots more children in 1861- but not Patt. I believe I have found a death for him in 1865.(Exeter,Devon)

But don't understand where he was in 1861. Eliabeth is still 'married' and down as head -but its crossed out and changed to wife- so presumedly he was absent-somewhere. I have tried typing -prisoner and inmate and patient -but cannot find him. Can anyone help please? On 1871 she is 'widow' so that ties up with a likely death in 1865. Many of the children die too - so I think possible he was in a hospital or something?
Also if anyone can direct me to irish records to find them before they came to england that would be great! (i have tried igi-but nothing)

EXETER GUILDHALL .
Trewman's Exeter Flying Post or Plymouth and Cornish Advertiser (Exeter, England), Wednesday, February 27, 1861; Issue 4950.

I have found a report of the burglary - and the fact he was tried -but not the outcome! there were several people in on it - but he is quoted as saying' I expect I'll get 4 years' so he was lucky to get 1 !

Thanks you for your help
