hello :-)Eliza Rowson Born 1868 stoke on trent was an Eliza Mcgee when she married Thomas Cook Birchall in 1914.Her fathers surname was Rowson on her marriage certificate.
Cannot find her marriage from Rowson to Mcgee?Can anyone help please.

Did it say she was a widow?

no sorry,not a lot to go on ,I found 1871 and 1881 census for her.Her fathers name Thomas Rowson born 1827 and her mother Eliza born 1827 staffs.Had a brother Albert born 1871.Looked long and hard for marriage between Eliza Rowson and a "Mcgee but no luck!

Maybe she was there in 1911 census!

Well funny you should say that!!Yes,her husband Thomas Birchall was at the same address in 1911 as in there marriage in 1914..But,his wife was named Sissie May Birchall,born 1871.said they were married in 1886 ,but cannot find any record of this.
Did they just say they were married,was Sissie short for Eliza???
I do have the marriage cert. for Eliza and Thomas for 1914,but not Sissies

could she have been widowed twice before marrying thomas birchall. if that was the case there wouldn't be a rowson mcgee marriage but rowosn to ???? the ???? to mcgee , them mcgee to birchall.

Hi,couldnt find a Sisse May on other census forms.
Think possibly Eliza could have been married before,but have not found Eliza Rowson married to a "Mcgee"
Could Sisse be Eliza??Thomas Birchall was actually step father to Sarah Ellen and Gladys on 1911 census,so what relation ship is Sisse to Sarah and Gladys??so many questions!A real mystery :-S

Thomas was a widower and Eliza a widow.Thomas father was Thomas Birchall(deceased)Eliza s father was Thomas Rowson (deceased)Too many Thomas names me thinks! ;-)
