Now... Here is a question?

I have JUST discovered that my Great Grand Aunt, Lily Mason (b. 1878), in the 1911 Census, is living at St Agnes' Convent, Erdington, Birmingham. It has her listed as 'sister' to head of household - which are all female - so I conclude that she is a nun. Is there any avenue I can follow that would glean any more info on this? Can anyone help?

Did you look at the image?

She is recorded as being a Trained Certificate Teacher, employed by the County Council, and a 'Religious Sister'.

BTW, her birth year was not c1878 - it was c1873

Who were her parents ?
I assume yours was born in Leicestershire if you have honed in on the one in 1911 ( who's DOB is 1883 !

There are several possible births in 1877/78

thanks for the replies. I am assuming it is her as she was born in Hinckley (in the 1911 census report also) and the year does say circa 1883... near enough to 1878... and the fact that the rest of her siblings are all in the Aston area of Birmingham at that time also.

btw Mike... the George and Emma family of Stockwell Head, Hinckley are correct....

If the 1881 that I posted is correct family...

Is this her marriage ?
In which case she wouldn't be Mason in 1911

I agree with Mike. There is another Lily born Hinckley 1878, much more likely to be her. I know birth years can be out but 5 years is an awful lot, especially as there is an alternative Lily and given the consistent spelling variation of Lillie which she uses.
