I have looked for a marriage and they married in 1904 but for the life of me I cannot find either of them on the 1911. Fanny died in 1916 and George died in 1946 as below.

Was just wondering if any of you clever helpers can find them on the 1911 please as this is not an easy name to look up.
Thanks Mel.

I see George was a commercial traveller 1901. So he might be anywhere - even Scotland maybe! Jan

The strange thing on the 1911 image is that the years married and number of children has been entered but the enumerator has crossed through them in red!
It makes me wonder if the couple had seperated?? - I can't see why this would have been done if he was just away for a day or two?

2 further births Tummon/mmn Elwick post Sep Qtr 1912 in Hull RD Ellen Jun Qtr1913 Ivy Sep Qtr 1916 So either George was still around somewhere - that would fit in with the death reg. (or that's the surname they were given at Registration).

Yes Stuart it does seem as though Fanny died either in or just after childbirth with Ivy.
I am still trying to find George on the 1911 but I suppose he could have been anywhere. It is a strange surname to look up as it could be transcribed as anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried many.

I think the second marriage was in Romford Essex as that is Where Edith \mabel Peterken was born. It comes under West Ham. I am from that way and West Ham covers a big area for births.
England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915 about Edith Mabel Peterken Name: Edith Mabel Peterken Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1898 Registration district: West Ham Inferred County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 105 There is also this birth which I suspect was George's baby which I think died too.
England & Wales, Birth Index: 1916-2005 about Edith M Peterken Name: Edith M Peterken Mother's Maiden Surname: Peterken Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1917 Registration district: Romford Inferred County: Suffolk Volume Number: 4a Page Number: 871 England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2006 about Edith M Peterken Name: Edith M Peterken Birth Date: abt 1917 Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1917 Age at Death: 0 Registration district: Romford Inferred County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 700 I wonder if it was his fault a lot of his children died? I don't mean that in a bad way..................................
