I am a transcriber for Lancashire OPC. If any of you lovely helpful people have Lancashire connections this is an interesting and rewarding thing to do.

Also to Union Jack person - You have just found a missing piece of information with my grandma's baptism and I am very grateful. Her name was Sarah Hannah Lowe but her baptism was recorded as Sarah Anna, I don't know why but apparently she thought she was never baptised which bothered her. My cousin who started the family tree and told me this will be happy to have this information, We have never found her birth cert either.

Maureen - This info adds a bit more to my theory that the Lowe/Towers family could be mine as my grandma, Sarah Hannah, had a sister Isabella. This is spelt wrong (Qullulla) in the 1891 census found by Jan above. Thanks Jan.

I realise presuming anything is dangerous so if I can prove this family is correct the brick wall will be demolished.

I really appreciate all this help I am getting. It's amazing.

Pleasure to help Diane. I thought when I posted the Sarah Anna baptism that you probably already had it but it may help the helpers!

I do think that is your William Henry's family and that is his sister Elizabeth Ann boarding with Martha Jane.

As to the Union Jack, I may be a proud Scot but I certainly want to remain a citizen of the United Kingdom as my ancestors are Scots / Irish and many of my cousins, niece and nephew are English :-)

Thanks heaps everyone for your help. Especially thanks to Union Jack person. You have found my grandma's baptism which I didn't have. In fact my cousin who started the family tree said grandma thought she wasn't baptised which worried her. Her middle name is wrong but it's definately her. A real find.

The name above "Qullulla" is a transcription error and should be Isabella. This is also another link with Isabella above b. 1864.

Any help with linking these families would be much appreciated.

Also Dea, I do transcribing for Lancashire OPC. If anyone has connections to Lancashire this is an interesting and rewarding project to get involved with.

I am sure you have cracked it!! Elizabeth Ann Lowe married William Wall and they had George. I have ssumed (never assume) as I cannot yet find evidence of death and marriage that William died and Elizabeth married George Hill and had Elizabeth named above.

In my tree I all ready have Elizabeth Ann Hill (known as Lizzie) marrying William Henry Lowe (brother of Sarah Hannah, my grandma). They were living in York but returned to Lancashire and married in Lancashire in 1912 in St John, Hopwood. (Lancashire BMD). According to an aunty they were cousins and this proves that they are.

Was that a guess and then you looked for proof that Elizabeth married George?Thank you so much.

I will now try to find if William (b 1858) did in fact go to North America with two married sisters. I now have their married names to go on,

I don't see a death for William or a marriage as yet to George Hill.

There doesn't seem to be any of William Henry Lowe's sisters who emigrated.

Could it have been sister's of his wife who emigrated?

I agree, his sisters are all in Lancashire. I have Martha's sisters' names but they also remain in England.
