His first marriage was to Dorothy Kennedy 1939 in Liverpool.

In 1939 he was living at 9 Bell St. Liverpool and his DOB is given as 05 Dec 1912

Second marriage to Bridget Whyte (White) 1948 in Liverpool.

I'm stumped for a birth. All help appreciated, thanks.

Sue

The problem I have found is that there are a huge number of Broad family members who come from Madley Herefordshire and I have a feeling (nothing other than that) they may be the right line.

If that Edgar Broad was the father...and I can't find the birth :-| there is a photo of him on his merchant seaman record on FMP

That birth of 1888 would rule him out as the grandpa I am looking for :-(

Edgar 1888 married Ethel Edmondson and I have found 8 births to that marriage one being George M qtr 1912 west Derby V08b P 534 could this be your Edgar ??

There is a Closed tree on Ancestry.co.uk with a George Edgar Broad born Immission Street Liverpool and Ethel born 1914 who also was a daughter of Edgar and Ethel nee Edmondson.

Then another closed tree with George Broad 1912 of 97 Immission Street.

Will do Gwyn...lolol

I looked at the George Edgar on Ancestry but nothing fits (even if he reversed his name).

I have ordered his marriage cert to Bridget, which I know is correct.

Why do I do this? lololol

We all have those mad moments when we decide to take another look at a particular branch.

I've got DAVIES marrying DAVIES in the South Wales valleys, I can't really buy too many birth certificates to sort out their possible 12 children.

also JONES moving there from Herefordshire ( as if there weren't enough there already )
The ones who stayed in Herefordshire had distinctive names like Mary, Jane, William and John.

meanwhile separate family line I have George JONES a labourer born in Southampton.....before registration of course.

...........One day when I'm feeling brave .................!!

I sympathise I have direct line Jones. I am back to patronymic and parked them months ago.

Ivan ap Thomas isn't terribly helpful :-(

Hi supercrutch, I would put money on him being the birth Mary posted

George Broad - M qtr 1912 west Derby V08b P 534

Too good a match with the age, and with a father named Edgar, and your Edgar stating middle initial G -- too much coincidence!

Sticking this here so I see what the certificate says when it comes :-)

Dea Report 11 Feb 2018 08:51

I have also been through the entire street directory of old Liverpool and there is nothing which looks anything like Immission St. - There is not even a 'Mission St' which I might have expected!

(lol, same thought as me Dea, Mission!, looked also, 1911 Census Summary Books (Ancestry)

Google usually brings something up on Street names, and very often references in Newspapers.
