*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 26 Dec 2008 21:52

We live 1500 ft above sea level and are cited in Wickipedia as the highest town in Wales, so yes it is cold.

Do you have a neighbourhood watch ?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 28 Dec 2008 19:20

Not officially but we all keep an eye out for each other anyway.

How will you celebrate New Year?

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 28 Dec 2008 19:29

With friends and family, either at home or the local pub ( more friends.lol) 400 yds away .We are 1500ft above sea level,so will see all the local fireworks that seem to be the norm to be let off at midnight!!

Do you find it a long gap between Christmas and new yr before things get back to normality ?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 28 Dec 2008 21:25

Used to seem like ages when the children were small but time flies now I'm getting older.

Have you booked a holiday for next year?

Easter Bunny

Easter Bunny Report 29 Dec 2008 09:40

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 29 Dec 2008 10:24

*$parkling $andie* Report 30 Dec 2008 00:05

Summer

Do you grow your own annuals for summer flower display or buy from a garden centre ?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 30 Dec 2008 16:26

All perennials I'm afraid.

Do you grow any of your own vegetables?

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 30 Dec 2008 21:00

Yes, we grow kidney beans, broad beans, peas, onions, beetroot, potatoes, rhubarb, apples and have chives, mint and rosemary. Usually do parsley.
Not self sufficient tho !

Do you wear leather gloves ?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 30 Dec 2008 21:11

Was given a pair for Christmas last year but never worn them - no ethical reasons, just don't do the soccer/rugby mum thing any more so don't need them.

Have you ever baked your own bread?

Anne

Anne Report 31 Dec 2008 17:27

At school many years ago and now with a Panasonic bread maker, not all the time though

How did you celebrate New Year?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Jan 2009 17:45

Quietly at home waiting for my daughter in law to present me with my first grandchild - he arrived at lunchtime today weighing in at 6lb 15oz.

Were there many fireworks where you are last night?

(They're still going off round here which is not fair to the dogs/cats in the area!!)

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Jan 2009 23:12

Apart from the grandchild?

Hubby is really good at gifts but this year it was my own laptop so I can do GR/Ancestry without having to kick teenage son off the computer.

What was your worst gift - ever!

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 4 Jan 2009 15:00

A box of unheard of ,disgustingly smelling bath cubes. Remember them ?

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 5 Jan 2009 13:52

Just a smattering of snow around 5am and then a few flurries this morning.

Do you ever wish you could go back and relive your school days?

Thanks Easter Bunny - he's gorgeous!! They're coming home from hospital today so lots of cuddles this afternoon.
