what do you do if you find yourself lying awake in the early hours?

Well I have in the past got up and done some ironing after lying there and thinking for ages about all those shirts which I should have done through the day but always found another job to do instead ,I hate ironing.
or maybe went into the spare room to read a book or do wordsearch as my OH doesn't like me putting on the light, but then I worry about the lack of sleep and how am I going to cope the next day. always happens the night before an appointment or babysitting.


Have you ever been disturbed in the middle of the night, maybe from a noise outside and thought someone was trying to get into the house.

No , I sleep soundly until about 6.30 , then usually wake cos of a strange dream, I just try to go back to sleep to' finish' the dream.lol.
If I hear noises it's either dau or son going to the bathroom:)

As the saying goes 'do you not suffer fools gladly' or are you more open minded and patient..?

It depends on who I'm with,very patient with my granddaughters and the elderly, also open minded, you have to be working in the arts. Having said that I don't suffer fools gladly and people that dither really get on my nerves.

I'm a Libra, and yes am very typical of that sign..can always see both sides of the story and often find it difficult on which side to come down, despite weighing up the pros and cons.:)
Mum was also a Libra and in her words she would run with the hares and the hounds ! Cop out ! decisions have to be made.

Do you have strong political views ( don't want to know which side .lol) or are you middle of the road ..?

I am fairly middle of the road but having said that I would never in a million years vote labour, locally we have a very good council with not one labour seat held.

Is your local council supportive and popular with everyone ?

It's funny that you say that Anne, my reply would have been exactly the same !

Our council had been Labour held for yrs, but took a battering last yr and they no longer have a majority !!
Tho they did whilst in office for the previous 3 yrs did do a heck of a lot for our ward, my friend and neighbour had his first and last term in office ! and they made major improvements to the children's local play areas and general things within the ward. He was labour and I voted for him,but local elections are different. He was paid a whack but I know he worked his socks off:)
No one can be popular with everyone.lol. Dave whom I'm talking about was born and brought up in the village he / we live in , I've lived here for 33yrs. I suppose it's like Marmite you either love them or hate them !
I found him great as a councillor , the person who knocked him out was our local Undertaker who was also born and still lives in the village but he stood as Independent.

Do you need specs to correct you vision , if so have you ever thought of Laser surgery .?

I use specs for the computer and in the office but at home I rarely wear them. I wouldn't consider laser treatment as I am borderline type 2 diabetic [it's hereditary] and I have to have regular eye tests etc. Our youngest son at 3 years old developed cancer of the eye and had to have an artificial one fitted, he is fine now and is able to drive but at the time it was very traumatic as they weren't sure if it had spread to the other eye, we live quite near to the King Edward Hospital in Windsor who have really good eye specialists and he recovered really quickly from the operation. Needless to say this was the worst time of my life and my husbands.

Have you ever gone through a worrying time with your family?

Yes.
Mum had a stroke at 65 followed by a few heart attacks and further strokes.
It was worrying every day. Dad looked after her at home, bless him until she eventually had to go into nursing care.
Initially I was childless and could help him as much as possible, but I didn't drive then:(
My dau was born 5 yrs after mum had her first stroke and I passed my driving test when I was pregnant so altho I had a baby was able to help more.
It was a very worrying 10 yrs.(,that's when she died )-- as it would be be for any one who loved their parents.
My beloved Dad 3 yrs her senior lived until 2 weeks off his 91st birthday.

Do you belong to a neighbourhood watch formally, or do you just keep a neighbourly eye about what is going on ..?

no,we were approached by the police to see if we were interested but it never got off the ground.I know less than half a dozen neighbours here now.The other houses have all been bought and rented out by private landlords and the tenants change all the time.Tend to keep myself to myself.

have you ever had a problem neighbour?

Well not really a problem, but a very unreasonable and awkward one.

She told my husband many yrs ago he was being selfish by replacing our front wall( on it's original foundations ) because it wasn't in line with hers ( which wasn't on it's original foundations cos they wanted to put new gates on it to make a 2nd drive,so her hubby had told us that's why they put the wall up in a straight line rather than curved ..as ours is )

Hubby and her and her one 40yr old son (lives at home ) have never spoken since. But one of my friends , her ex best friend Rita with whom she used to go to chapel says she has fallen out with many 'good' friends and Rita says she has only seen her twice since Graham her husband died in 2003!
Don't need 'friends' like that do you. I speak to her out of politeness !

Does a great job of going off when I forget to deactivate it and walk through the door!!!!

Have you ever had a household appliance start to behave oddly when you least expected it to?

just the fridge freezer which occasionally makes a sort of growling noise.
It unnerved our old dog who used to glare at it and I'm sure she was ready to have a scrap with it a couple of times.
Do you have any appliances/gadgets that you bought a while ago thinking they were brilliant only to have them relegated to the back of a cupboard gathering dust?

Haven't used my hand mixer for ages, just because I don't do cakes !

Do you bruise easily..? ....I do

Yes and sometimes a bruise will appear and I don't recall knocking myself. I have more of a problem with small cuts as I'm allergic to plasters

Have you ever had an allergic reaction to anything ?

Yes Betnovate cream which I had on prescription, my face swelled up like a balloon and my eyes were almost closed, frightening !!

Is there a certain evening in the week on which you regularly go out .?

No, I prefer to be spontaneous as it's more enjoyable, there are often free tickets for staff where I work, if the Theatres or Cinema aren't fully booked on the night but if its a popular performance I will pay for us to go anyway.

When you go out for the evening where is your favourite place to visit?

I like going out for a meal followed by a Concert/Show at my local Theatre. I also enjoy going to see a West End Show about 2 or 3 times a year.

What radio station do you most often listen to?

A local station Red Dragon, or if I loose the signal in the car Real Radio.

What programmes do you prefer to watch on TV.?
Documentaries, drama , films ,soaps or something else.?

I like Emmerdale,QI, and a mix of all sorts.There's no decent comedies any more and seems to be an overload of game shows .
