Hi everyone~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope I am not sending out too many poems in one go. I just figured as they are not as long as prose I could send a few, but let me know if you want me to have a pause !

Sent a pic to Helen and Amanda.

Recieved more today from Ann and Linda and will read them tomorrow.
Really enjoying reading all your stories and some take me back..lol

Can I make a suggestion, as it's a week or more now since we had a topic....and we're all sending out stuff randomly?

How about we do a few exercises, which will not only help to sharpen up our minds, and warm the brain before we start writing in earnest, but will give us a common theme from time to time.

So what if we wrote a piece that included all of five random words...it can be anything, factual, fiction, poetry, play, whatever you like, and as long as you like.

For instance...you could include the following five words in your piece, in no particular order....

Spin
Wheelbarrow
Carpet
Temper
Butter

Good idea Teresa, as long as it isn't compulsory.

i like my words to come to me, i find it hard to work being given words, especially as you can't do that with poetry.

I will go with it Teresa, but can we take your words but accept that spin may appear as spinning, spinner etc? Is that acceptable? Do we have a word count for prose?

LOL I had to laugh at 'butter' being on the list ...no idea why :)

But I do think it would be nice, as we are all doing random things , to do one piece on a specific topic? at least from time to time, as I think it would still be a good idea to see the difference in how we each approach the same subject? I need a bit of discipline, and whilst I have lots of ideas...I think writing a 'set piece' would help develop that.

Sunday

My head is in a frightful spin
Don’t know if I’m coming or going
I’m turning the composting bin
And the grass is in dire need of mowing
But the wheelbarrow sits full of weeds
And the fork is in need of a clean
And I’ve thousands of packets of seed
And my temper’s as short as it’s been.
I don’t have the time for the garden,
The house is just so full of clutter
And the carpet! Well I beg your pardon
Has just been attacked by some butter !
Wouldn’t you know it , the toast had to drop
As it does, face down every time
So I really do not have a minute to stop
And think of a more perfect rhyme !

Very good Rose, are we supposed to put it on here? I haven't even started to think about it yet.

Good idea TW, and maybe if we just submitted a piece a week? It doesn't mean we should stop writing but just so we could all catch our breaths and give us more time to read each others stuff as well. Just an idea:-)
