I enjoyed it, but then, not being from Liverpool, the accents don't bother me.

However, have an allegedly 'Cornish ' speaker with a vaguely Devon accent would pee me off!!! Or Hampshire/Dorset.
Even a Norfolk/Suffolk .

Guess who's mainly a Sooth-Moother?

I really enjoyed it :-D I'm not an expert on Liverpool accents, but I know what you all mean. A false Geordie one really grates on me! :-D ;-)
I think Sheridan Smith is a great little actress, and I'm looking forward to next week. :-D

I really enjoyed it. I had my hair in the same style as Cilla back in the 60s. Some of the men's hair styles last night were a bit extreme though.I thought Bobby Willis looked more like Boris Johnson :-D

Thanks for that Mr Magoo..never seen that before...very impressed with your searches....really chuffed!!
Our band was on a programme on Granada TV ,,sort of a magazine one ,on T.V around this time as well It was called People and Places with Bill Grundy and Gay Byrne.it was when Corrie was in its infancy and we were in the studios all day as it was live and we had to get the timing right.

I've found the one that The Beatles was in a bit later, but never found ours..suppose it's not important enough...would be around 1959/60.

I'm still in touch with 2 members of our band ,one now lives in the States and has just given up going on gigs over there.

Just had a closer look at the picture of Geoff Wilde with the Collegians.
The original front line only had trumpet, trombone and clarinet and Geoff joined in on 2nd trumpet.
The one I am still in contact with is trumpeter on the right...must send him that link.
Trombonist died about 6 years ago and his brother is the clarinettist.

Good heavens Mr M your detective work is spot on!...bet your tree is huge!

I do post occasionally on Fred's site and I look in very often on his news page and have found a lot of my old friends ,and news of them on there...it is such a good one for keeping up to date and I am in contact with a number of them....these days there are a lot of obits unfortunately.

I'm back into playing again after a long spell of caring..got a practice tonight with other oldies..got a seventy odd year old lady singer who is coming for the first time....life in us yet.....got to keep going! :-D
