you'll soon get used to it - we're used to it in Wales - I have a fold up nylon bag which I attach to my handbag - I never pay for bags and if I buy clothes in M & S I just carry them over my arm |

Sounds better than an Almond Croissant and coffee at Cafe Nero, or for that matter, the Special at Sainsbury's. ;-) :-D |

It really is delicious Det, they also have similar in the M&S store in the same complex, that's as good, but Waitrose is nicer surroundings. |

Meat, fish, blades in free bags but there can't be anything in the bag that wouldn't qualify for a free bag. |

People with bags on them are very organised :-D I have lots of bags in my car, all sizes, but as I rarely know if I'll shop, they stay in the car :-) |

I've been saving M&S bags that I've bought clothes in, to re-use, only to realise they're bio degradable! So can't even save money that way. |

For a long time I have carried four or five plastic carrier bags folded small inside another bag but I do have a large handbag/shoulder bag so there is room for small items too like tv mag. I also carry a clothing size bag folded, in case I am not given a bag. I started carrying the usual size bags when you got points at the supermarket. Also it's always handy in case there is no bin when out if you have sandwich wrapping up, drink cartons etc, to 'take your rubbish home with you' |

From time to time I do an online shop from Sainbury . When they deliver they use umpteen plastic bags some of which have only one item in it . I often remark on the waste of bags to the driver . |

5p for say a £8 sweater isn't too bad. Can't work out the %age this early in the morning, but it's less than 1. |

Currently there is a large Lakeland Plastic bag for life in the handbag I'm using. Other bags have cloth ones in them - one is an Ancestry bag picked up from WDYTYA a few years ago. The other is a 'Childrens charity' bag given out at the County Show. |
