Well I searched Edward Ashmore on ancestry which I don't subscribe to and it came up with a match on a tree and his spouse was Catherine Dickenson and the details of the 1841 census matched, so I did a birth search for Catherine Dickenson and found one born 1790 in painswick Gloucestershire which is the details on the census of 1841 when they lived in shefgield

In case you haven't got it this is Catherine in the 1861 Census
Name: Catherine Ashmore Age: 70 Estimated birth year: 1791 Relation: Head Gender: Female Where born: Painswick, Gloucestershire, England Civil Parish: Sheffield Ecclesiastical parish: Dyers Hill Town: Sheffield County/Island: Yorkshire Country: England Street address: Occupation: Condition as to marriage: View image Registration district: Sheffield Sub-registration district: Sheffield Park ED, institution, or vessel: 16 Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 139 Piece: 3493 Folio: 31 Page Number: 24 Household Members: Name Age Catherine Ashmore 70 Edwin Ashmore 40 Son b Birmingham William Ashmore 17 Edwin Ashmore 10 Ellen Ashmore 7 Albert Ashmore 4
This I believe is Edwin's Baptism....there is an image for it
Name: Edwin Ashmall Age: 1 Birth Date: 9 Dec 1820 Baptism Date: 9 Sep 1822 Baptism Place: Birmingham, St Philip, Warwickshire, England Parish as it Appears: Birmingham, St Philip Search Photos: Search for 'Birmingham, St Philip' in the UK City, Town and Village Photos collection Phillimore Ecclesiastical Parish Map: View this parish Father: Edward Ashmall occ Maltser Mother: Catherine Ashmall Abode: Winson Green
This, I think, is the Baptism for William who appears on both the 1841 & 1851 Censuses
Name: William Ashmall Age: 0 Birth Date: 16 Jun 1823 Baptism Date: 7 Jul 1823 Baptism Place: Birmingham, St Philip, Warwickshire, England Parish as it Appears: Birmingham, St Philip Search Photos: Search for 'Birmingham, St Philip' in the UK City, Town and Village Photos collection Phillimore Ecclesiastical Parish Map: View this parish Father: Edward Ashmall occ Maltser Mother: Catherine Ashmall Abode: Winson Green
You will note that the surname in both instances was Ashmall; perhaps the surname was Ashmall and became Ashmore .......Just a thought!
