Dear Val, What a horrible situation! I hope their sins come home to roost with interest! Is there not some rule that if they change the arrangements after a certain point in the proceedings you are automatically entitled to compensation? A couple I know (who deserved it by the way) were caught out when the person they were buying from demanded 10% of the purchase price in cash after the contracts had been exchanged and 7 days before the completion date. This was entirely his right and they could not threaten to pull out as they had already signed the contracts and would have had to pay the penalty - I cannot remember how much it is now. Unfortunately they were able to come up with the cash but it did teach them a lesson. A big fat chocolatey hug on its way to you. Abigail

I hope everything sorts it out. Our amanda last year had a terrible thing happen she had everything done surveyor search etc done a week before they should have signed the seller pulled out, Amanda had sold her house even dropped the price for this one she wouldn't let her buyer down even though she was offered more if she waited which would have been better. So then it was panic finding somewhere to live. Luckily the house of grime turned up LOL!! right price and it is lovely now. But she says she will NEVER move again. she could have come to live with us or in-laws but where would they have put the Khan (the dog from hell) he is lovely in small doses. There should be some sort of law that once an agreement is made anyone changing there mind should be made to pay compensation to other parties if any money has been paid out. Certainly all these stories have put me off moving too big or not I am staying put. Sorry nearly forgot the HUGS Germaine xxxxxx

Hi Germaine your daughter has done just like us!! we reduced by 15K for these awful people!! they have the cash and where buying it for their son!! said they wanted him to upgrade and as he was training to be a nurse would never manage it alone! (they havent had to pay anything out! even did their own survey!! they are the sort to do just as what happened to your daughter and tell us theyve changed their mind!) so we have to tread on egg shells!! as we've paid for everything and they havent paid out a penny!! thanks for you hugs! If I move again it'll be in a coffin!! (never again) Val:~)
