Good evening everyone.

I hope that it is lovely and warm where you are, it certainly isn't here. i have been drenched twice today, which was not fun. the rain was torrential this afternoon.

Still the probate hearing passed OK, so it will be a week or so, depending on the will of the striking postmen before the grant probate arrives in the post. then I can start task of applying for the money to be released. then there is only the matter of selling the house!

Hi Linda, your probate has gone through pretty quick, my employer's mum has been waiting since may and has only just got paper's through and she did all the paper work so solicitor only had to apply, she got the paper's today and in the first paragraph there was a mistake ( born Jan1930- died Feb 2009- age 71yrs ) should have said 79yrs, what a stupid mistake.

Good Evening Linda, and Diane,

It is not warm here, in fact I'm cold even with the heating on, and the rain is lashing against the windows.
I am not terribly well today, and no, I'm not seeking sympathy.
A new series of my favourite programme starts at 9pm, so I'm eagerly awaiting that.

I did the probate myself, I am not giving good money to a solicitor for something so simple. It is not a complicated estate, just the house and various banks and building societies and a couple of pensions. The more complicated thing is the tax form, but it is just a matter of collecting the info.

I am sorry that you are not feeling well Tec. I am getting too hot now all the curtains are closed and the heating is on. I was just contemplating taking my thick fleece jumper off. Promise that you won't peek if I do,

What are you going to watch at 9pm?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Nov 2009 20:50

Glad the probate has gone through without any hiccups, another less thing to worry about.
Another series of Spooks starts this evening, I really enjoy it. Not much that I watch on tv - football if Chelsea or Newcastle are playing.
Happy youi are now warm, wish I were.

Hello all:-))

Tec so sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you're not coming down with something. Wrap up warm and enjoy your program.

Linda it's pouring here and has done since yesterday. It doesn't look good for our get-away but the further west we travel the less likely we'll get rain. I've had a very frustrating couple of hours researching. Yesterday I typed in one of my 4 x great grandfathers. What joy! There is a family tree on Ancestry and as I looked through it I was so excited. It appeared to go back to my 9 x great grandfather. Of course I had a closer look. It turned out that my 5 x gg was 58 y.o. when he had his last child and his wife 56. So I kept digging and it just didn't work out. Some of it is accurate because it matches my own research but the rest I just don't know. I sent a message to the fellow and he sent one back saying he'd got the info off another person's tree and that he hadn't noticed the discrepancies. He'd obviously just transferred the info. without checking anything. I'll keep the notes because I think some of it is probably ok but I'll need to do some more digging. Grrrrrr

Alison I'll be thinking of you today. I was going to say we're beside you all the way but perhaps not when you're having your procedures. We'll wait outside the door:-))

Hi, Diane - hope you are well and things are going ok.

Hi, Colin did you get the rain we got yesterday. Berona didn't get any rain and yet it's rained here all night and looks like it's set in for the day.

I am waving to Diane because she can't post, but can pm.
I hope it gets sorted soon. I will just talk to Tec, though as it is nearly 9pm, he will be going as well.

Oh well, I will just have to talk to myself, no change there then

Berona Report 4 Nov 2009 20:53

Good evening/morning everyone! Alison - you may have gone, but I'm thinking of you and hoping for a good result.

Tec - how are you now? OK? Take it easy and take care of yourself! I want you in tip top condition when you take over command of the cruiser.

Our weather man promises showers to-day and a top of 20. No wonder people are catching colds - 38 degrees two days ago, now this - but still no rain as yet.

Hi Linda and Sue,
and everyone else,
I've been a bit busy so I didn't get time to come on here. I've been working on my family tree.
The weather's been grotty.

Hello Sue,
I am doing some research on an obscure branch of my tree because I got a contact from someone.
She opened her tree straight away and as usual I could see that I was much further back, She asked me to open my tree, but i won't because I have had someone copy chunks off before and add them to their tree in the wrong place. I have offered this woman a detailed family report, going back three more generations than she has and I have even looked up the 1911 censuses for her line. what is the bet she doesn't come back to me lol.

I hope that the rain doesn't spoil your trip, I thought that you could do with some rain in your area though

Good Morning Sue, and Berona,

I too hope the weather perks up for your trip Sue, keep going West and you can help Allan dig his garden?

I'll be fit enough to drive the ship Berona, and hopefully not onto the rocks,

Waves to Diane who can read but not answer back, that sounds wrong somehow, but was meant nicely,

Hi Pat, Hope you are keeping warm, Linda's warm, shall we all go round her place?

Off to watch tv 'till Ten, Bye for now

good evening/morning everyone

I kow you won't see this until much later, Alison, but sending you my best wishes for today.

Tec I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well....will we have to postpone the Great Escape? I've already found a motorcycle that I was going to use for jumping acros the threads.

Hello to Linda, Carole, Colin, Pat, Sue and Berona and apologies to anyone that I have missed.
You're on the Thread En Masse.....or in my case En Mess!

Allan....a newly discovered contagious disease that makes you post dreadful puns etc.

Scientists are currently searching for an effective antidope!

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 4 Nov 2009 21:15

Linda we always need the rain. We don't intend allowing the rain to spoil things. It's more a relaxing break than a sightseeing holiday.

I have to admit that at times I've been on the receiving end with info. I do try to repay the favour by sharing certificates. I've also had people take loads of stuff off my tree and then add wrong info. to it. I never open my tree without some communication and I will send a family report to someone who is genuinely involved with my tree. I've just sent a report to a person who contacted me through a Hot Match who quite openly admitted that he had very little info. on that branch of the family as he had just started researching. He was amazed and very grateful that I'd replied and sent him info. that took him back to our 6 x great grandparents. When I told him I had photos too he was very excited.
