Hi Alison- It is good to see you here. You're getting there lovely lady.
Sending sincere and positive thoughts of encouragement, so hope you will feel better soon, and can eat a little something. Love from Wales.

Tony - The Aussie Christmas National Anthem is brilliant, and the other songs/poems - gave me a good laugh.
Well we didn't have snow today, but I think it was too cold. Tonight it is 0c, and tomorrow will be rising to a steamy 2c, and -1 at night.
Came home from taking OH to medical appointment, the house was cold even though heating was on, so I lit the fire.
I know that's not helping to save the planet, but can't freeze to death while trying to save it.............

Berona......You do look very glamorous with that snazzy hair do.

Hello, Tec. Wow 2 degs. - you'll be sunbaking soon:-))

It was very warm yesterday but today it's supposed to be even hotter with thunderstorms later in the day. I don't think I'll venture too far today. I'm watching the grandkids for an hour this afternoon so their mum can do some grocery shopping in peace. So it'll be from one air-conditioned home to another.

Good Morning Sue,
Hope you haven't been watering the garden again!!!
Sounds like you had a fun Christmassy time with the children, my little fan club from along the road came in tonight to inspect our tree - they each went away clutching a bauble off the tree to put on theirs.
The helicopter that took OH to hospital landed in the school playing field, the eldest had seen it, and was very excited to hear that it was OH that went in it - I don't think Neil Armstrong was regarded in such awe. He wanted to know every detail, and was so disappointed to hear that she was "asleep" at the time........his face was a picture.

Hello everyone. Tony and Perse, thanks for the Christmas songs - they're great - just the kind of Christmas I'm used to. I had one Christmas in London - no snow - the sun was up there amongst the clouds. I could see it but I couldn't feel it! Seemed strange being cold at Christmas!

New hairdo? No, Tec. Just the usual trim. Fells better though because I know it looks better. Hope everyone and their OH's are all well? I had a story about wheelie bins sent to me this morning. Needless to say, I thought of Allan. I would love to put it on here, but it's a bit rude and I would not like to take any risks with this thread - it's too important to a lot of us.

Well, in spite of being late getting started, it's all done now except the salad foods which I can't get in until next week. Now, I'm feeling proud of myself.

The children sound delightful, Tec. Are you their honorary grandad? Sounds like it:-)) At the hospital where I work we have a heli-pad on top of the car park. When the helicopter lands anyone can watch from the large windows and glass door and it can be exciting for children. They have no idea that the arrival or departure of the helicopter means a medical emergency.

Good morning/evening to all

Tony, good to see your post

Perse, the gazebo does look a bit like a Band Rotundaand at the moment is being used by 11 Pipers Piping and 12 Drummers Drumming.

I'm expecting someone from the Council to call soon regarding the noise.

Berona, you could always post your wheelie bin missive on the "Ethics" thread as it doesn't matter if that one gets whizzed

Good evening to Diane, Linda, and Tec

Good morning to Carole, Janet and Sue

Good Morning Berona,
Hope you are well today - I can't believe you would know any rude stories.
I see that you too are well organised for Christmas. Will Allan and I be getting our night caps and bed socks?

Sue, The children are a constant source of amusement to us. Everything I do - every move I make - everything I say, is reported to their mother on a daily basis. Their mother must be tired of the sound of my name, but she finds it funny.

Good Morning Allan,

Glad I don't live next door to you...........
I hear the Band of the Coldstream Guards are on the way.

Good morning, Allan and Berona.

Allan - we must be invited to see your backyard when it's finished. I insist:-)) I have it in my mind's eye that it is enormous.

Tec - you had better behave then. I'm just thinking that when your staff arrive we will cause quite a stir. Of course no-one will believe the children when they say you have a maid with hairy legs:-)

Sue xx

Tec are they part of the Edinburgh Tattoo - I'm sure the neighbours will really kick up a fuss:-))

Allan

Allan Report 16 Dec 2009 21:55

Tec, Sue, its not only the noise!

I had only just cleared up after the milmaids milking, but at least I have some nice manure for the garden and a freezer full of beef.

If I see any Lords a Leaping, the house will be up for sale

Allan

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Dec 2009 22:05

Allan.....

Do you have Nine Ladies Dancing on the patio?

Sue.....Allan will have to wear trousers - ?

Tec

Berona

Berona Report 16 Dec 2009 22:07

Of course - the colourful beanie with socks to match have gone to Allan and the pastel blue nightcap and matching socks are wending their way via our Australia Post - which is dicey at the best of times and troublesome at the moment - but have faith - they will arrive. Allan may have to keep his until July but I'm sure Tec will be as snug as a bug in a rug as soon as he gets his - remember! don't open till Christmas!

No, I don't like very rude jokes, but I can take most jokes as long as they have wit in them - I always enjoyed Benny Hill. Anyway, I only received this one this morning - from a former neighbour I knew for forty years!

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Dec 2009 22:12

I often receive rather risque jokes from a relative in England who is very proper and would never tell you the jokes in person.

Allan

Allan Report 16 Dec 2009 22:15

Tec, I think that the Lords and Ladies must be dallying somewhere.

I can't see them but I can hear their giggles.

Berona I agree with you. Rude jokes are OK if witty but I have never accepted crudity that is used for shock value only.

I am also a big fan of Benny Hill and I particularly liked his songs.

Sue, We'll have a BBQ when the work is finally finished

Allan

Berona Report 16 Dec 2009 22:29

Can I come to the barbecue? I love barbecues.

Allan

Allan Report 16 Dec 2009 22:32

Of course, Berona, you will all be invited.

I have plenty of beef to use up thanks to the Milkmaids

I think we're all invitied, Berona. I think Allan's putting us all up and paying for airfares.

Tecwyn Report 16 Dec 2009 22:37

Can I come too? I'll be perfectly well behaved.

Berona, I could really do with them bed socks, my feet are freezing.

Allan, Those Lords and Ladies are drunk - as usual

Berona Report 16 Dec 2009 22:38

That's great! See you all there! Thanks Allan.

Well, I must go again. Doctor wanted to consult with specialist before renewing my script on Tuesday and specialist wasn't available - so it's back again to-day to sort that out. Talk to you all later.
Goodnight Poms - keep warm.

Persephone

Persephone Report 16 Dec 2009 22:40

Oh Goodee the BBQ is going ahead - I shall be there. Have you got a pear tree? Doves can be troublesome - they started the havoc in Hitchcock's "The Birds" and I am sure your wife is looking forward to the gold rings Allan....

Coldstream Guards - oh they are Bo Peep's favourite band - trouble is she thought that's who they were but they were Dad's Army. They have one of our Marching Teams doing a spot at the Edinburgh Tattoo - I love to watch it on the TV.

Very lively threading on the boards last night (my time) and lots of talk about GR putting the two santa hats and stars up in the corner. Then some of them said their stars twinkled - I was very disappointed think mine have blown a fuse - not a twinkle or sparkle in sight.

I think that was delightful Tec to send each child home clutching one of your baubles - that was very thoughtful of you.'

Hello Berona, Sue and sleepy Diane, and Pat (wherever you are) and Carole and Linda all refreshed & sated because she was worth it. Plus Tony and Janet. And of course our little trooper Alison.

Persephone - sorry am late this morning have had the plumber in.
