Has anyone had junk email using there Genes ☼♀Dragonfly♀☼ name and symbols,i have so how did they get my email adress from that and use my symbols

i have just received email from an unknown sender with a yahoo address.including GR specific name and bling. i only use this on GR. Have GR sent addys off to a third party I have sent GR a message regarding this. if this is possible why do my GR contacts get diverted via a different method? yvette

thats the same as me my user name as on home page if so who gave them my email address

I too got an email from an unknown sender using my GR name (Willow). It was a link to a site, did anyone else get this.

I have also had one in my bulk folder saying All is secure with Deborah exploring feelings. They must have hacked into GR and taken our personal details out. Very worrying.I have given my e mail address to some people who have requested it in connection with my family tree. Can they do any harm by just having that address.Have just e mailed GR so hopefully they will do something about it. Lynda x

I have one for my cousin in my yah00 spam box as she registered with that email addy, her username is only used on GR and nowhere else. I don't have one for myself in my h0tmail accout at the moment. Lynda Thay could try hacking your email account or as a last resort reset your password if they really wanted wanted to but you often get an email telling you password was reset and to click a link it you didn't do it. Be crafty with your password - a combination of letters, numbers and symbles is the strongest - and don't be too ovious with sercutrity question e,g, using mother's maiden name or putting Home as your faviourate place. I have seperate email accounts for giving out to contacts as I don't want to fill up my main accounts.

And when I queried GR's security the other day they said it was impossible for our accounts to be hacked! Can't check my emails cos my Outlook Express has thrown a wobbly!
