Interesting Threads - that is one way of describing them.

Some come under the head 'pathetic'
I read the multicoloured thread last night and was around when it got pulled and I was not surprised. I was having difficulty sleeping and since the excitement usually happens on here during my bedtime - I thought I would take a look.

I have just found out duh!!!! that I can use the ABC spell check on the tool bar before posting. All this time whenever I get my letters in a tangle I have googled - so always have google open for me to switch over to.
I am sooooooh last decade.

Hi everyone:-)

Had a hectic day today, running the children everywhere, and spending time with my young miss who has been away all week. I didn't realize until she was home how much I missed her.

I hope everyone is well:-))

Hello Carole,

That happens, even with the adult kids (is that an oxymoron?)

Spent time last week with my daughter going crabbing together. I realised that it was something that we hadn't done for years, and it was so enjoyable!

Hi Carole

Children are very precious - I would be lost without mine and the grandies. When my youngest went to England - we took her to the airport and on heading home OH said want to go for a coffee - and it is not like me to turn down the opportunity - but I just wanted to go home- spent the rest of the day feeling very sad and tearful. He said you were okay when she went to LA - that was for a week or so and OK when she went to OZ - that was for a couple of weeks - but this was going to be along time - over two years. I really did miss her - the house was not as lively.... etc etc.

I too, was lost when my daughter went to England and knew how my Mum felt when I did it! My mother was so scared I would meet a Pom and want to get married and stay there.

As it happened, my OH had emigrated to Australia and was living only a few streets away from us. I was away for nearly two years, then home again for a year before his sister came to work with me - and she introduced us. So much for my Mum worrying.

We had a very stormy night, gale force winds, and lashing with rain, but this morning it had all stopped - today has been very dull, but not cold.
I tidied up a lot of winter debris in the garden, hacking away at dead things.

Carole.......How is your daughter doing with the horse riding, and is she still looking for a horse? My grand daughter is doing her O Levels this year, so I think less time might be spent at the stables.

Diane and Pat, Where have you both run off to?

Linda.....Hope you both enjoyed your break away, and were suitably spoilt .

Good morning Tec:-))

My daughter is improving in leaps and bounds, her determination amazes me sometimes.
Like your Granddaughter, my daughter is doing her VCE this year. She is still looking at horses, but as yet she hasn't found a suitable horse to lease.

Morning/evening everyone:-))

Tec,
I'm still around.
A mixed sort of day. I bought a bed for my new bedroom. Exeter City beat Leeds United 2-0. I'm a Leeds United fan and I live in Exeter. I'm going to get my leg pulled on Monday at work!

Good morning/evening friends. Carole nice to see you at this time of day - we often miss each other. Is it cooler down your way?

Yesterday afternoon we had a whacking storm - thunder, lightening, strong winds and lots of rain. This lasted for awhile and then it was all gone. This morning? Sunshine and everything smells fresh.

I've been spending a some time with a neighbour whose husband has left after 38 years of marriage. She's found out there is another person involved and that this person has been around for at least 2 years. Her adult children and grandchildren are rallying around her and are a tremendous support but she is very sad. He is now stunned that his leaving the home has wide repercussions and told his wife that he thought it was between the two of them and he didn't realise that he may lose his whole family because of it. I don't understand how he thought it wouldn't affect their family. To make things worse she has just found out that the trees in her garden have sent their roots under the house and are causing problems with the foundations.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor, it must be an awful thing to go through:-(
Lucky she has you:-)))

Berona

Berona Report 16 Jan 2010 21:39

Good evening/morning everyone. Clear sky and sunny here. Strange, isn't it, Sue, how we so often get the same weather, yet there was no sign of any storm here yesterday. Lovely right now but could get to 31 later.

It's sad when people decide to leave after so many years together. I heard recently of a man who left after 25+ years and said "I might come back - just want to know what it's like to be with someone else". I'm pleased to say that his wife answered with a "you go, you don't come back". But, even after a year of separation, I could see that she is still in some kind of shock. They don't realise what they do to other people, do they?

Glad to know the weather is improving for you Tec.

Hooray, I got in here at last - Genes is really playing up tonight, nearly ground to a complete halt, but seems a little better now - was taking ages to respond to a click on anything - grrrrrrrrrrr

Good Morning/Evening,

Carole, It's great your daughter is doing well with the riding, trouble is they want to do everything at that age, and why not? you're only young once.

Pat, Pleased your team won today - I see Man U, and Liverpool are out of the cup - oh dear. I was a Chelsea supporter, but now I've grown up, it's Newcastle come rain or shine.

Sue, It is sad about your neighbour, and obviously the whole family is affected when a parent walks out. Though I think it's always worse when a parent walks out on a young family - how do you explain to a child?
I have wondered if people always consider the consequences of their actions in wrecking their families lives, causing so much heartache.
