Hello there.........

I am trying to get to grips again with my research......not doing very well.

My sister is 60 in december and she is like myself, desperate to find out some more about our Dad, i am trying my best to find as much as i can, then i will have a book made and give it to her on her 60th. I want some more photo's of him - we only have 1, so i am going to do some begging on other sites to see if anyone knew him.
I really hope i can achieve this because i know it means as much to her as it does me. Also sending for his army records.

Ah Jacky, I wish I could say- oh my Grandad knew your dad, I have some pics of him for you, just a sec and I'll send them to you! Or else wave a magic wand! In this game it's a certain case of 'keep digging!'

It has been a cold day for sure. Had a meeting with our new head re our positions once the new school is completed and opened for Sept one good thing to come out of it for now is that all Teaching Assistants - ME - will definietly have jobs for next academic year and probably the next. Whoopee! Other people who are welfare, breakfast club and cleaners can't be guaranteed those jobs especially if they work as a TA as well. Our two lovely office staff aren't on the other hand guaranteed their jobs because they can't have four office staff in jobs for only two. Not because of any bias, but our two office staff would knock spots off the other two with their management of all the admin side of things both excellent at their jobs and their liaison with parents etc.. So its another waiting game.

Off to bed soon, hope all are well. Friday today so lay in tomorrow. Having Leigha for the night so may not be on the comp at all.

Good Morning All

Great shame my uncle (mams brother) wont help me, i have my "plea" on the Liverpool Echo site - sadly no replys, now i will ask the Echo to put into print, my uncle will go ballistic,,,,,,,,,,,but he knows what it is like to have "a Dad".........he is the uncle who told me to leave family history alone - it has nothing to do with me, well i'm sorry, MY Dad is my flesh and blood and i am desperate to "know him" as best i can.

Went to the market, there was some lovely bedding in a bag, my daughter bought a red and black one - very reasonable too £70 !!!
YES, i did buy something - only some 2nd hand books - £9.

Ah, sorry to hear that Rose, its a shame with all these job losses........the goverment make me laugh, said yesterday that we are in ressession.........for Gods sake.........!, i'm best say no more, it winds me up to see how people will struggle.

Hello - i'm here Rose, i was doing some research last night and found addresses of lots of my family - i'm so chuffed, also found out my grandmother was still married to her 1st hubby in 1911 and living in Liverpool.

Sorry, i didnt pop in but i got carried away...................Lol.

Hello Rose, finally managed to get myself in here today too. The key seems to be jamming in the door a bit, thought one of you had changed the locks then realised it was the key, just a bit rusty cos it hadn't been used for a few days. Got it oiled and it seems to be working ok - well I'm here so it must be alright now! lol

Hope you're ok Rog, haven't seen you on for a couple of days.

Became a great-aunt again this weekend. It's not fair really, I'm the same generation as my sister whose daughter had the baby, she becomes a grandmother but we sound a whole generation older because we're GREAT Aunt/Uncles.

Fed up in school with lazy people sitting back and leaving me to do first aid at lunch times even though none of our certs are current and there are several of us booked on courses next month. One person in particular DELIBERATELY sits back in the chair when there's a knock on the door and makes out she hasn't heard it. Close to blowing my top today and letting her know! Rant over!
