Linda, you were a Physics Teacher and should know that electricity flows in a current.

We were going in the opposite direction and fighting against the current rather than going with the flow!

And on our Island there would be no need for a boss, it would be a true democracy.

We would take it in turns to be the dictator

Sorry - but I tried to post to say Goodnight to Barbra and I couldn't get any response when I hit the 'Reply' button. Anyone else had this problem?
Reason SITE ERROR

I don't sign out either, so never need to sign in unless there has been an update. This time, I signed out and in a few times, but this Reply box wouldn't show. Seems OK now.

Allan, I haven't started yet. Won't have to if you behave yourself! Tec is being a good boy so far - I think! It wouldn't be hard to find you, I would just look for the first pun, and I'll know it's you!

What kind of a kingdom is it with two kings and no subjects?

Carolee

Carolee Report 6 Nov 2009 22:40

Hi Linda..
I never buy anything for myself when I go shopping, its usually buying for the house or the children.
Yesterday, I bought a stick blender, I got it out of the box to try it all out, but it wouldn't work so I have to take it back today..frustrated is not the word!!!

Allan

Allan Report 6 Nov 2009 22:41

The best sort ,Berona.

No fear of any unruly subjects wanting to form a Republic!

Well you should treat yourself for once Carol. I have a stick blender, it is one of the best things I ever bought. I use it all of the time, it is so handy for making soup etc.

I was going to say that you should know how to blend sticks Allan, being a wattler.

Then I realised that I didn't know why that other thread on general is called The wattlers, so I looked it up and got

Wattle may refer to:

* Wattle (anatomy), a fleshy growth hanging from the head or neck of certain animals, including humans
* Wattle (dermatology) is another term for Congenital cartilaginous rest of the neck
* Wattle-and-daub, a building technique using woven wooden supports packed with clay or mud

that still didn't make sense, but further down I noticed

# Wattle, a common name for trees and shrubs in the genus Acacia, especially in Australia and South Africa

or maybe all Australians are just covered in strange fleshy growths

Good Morning Carole,
So annoying when something new doesn't work isn't it, have fun at the shops anyway,

Allan, If Linda dumps us on a dessert island, at least we won't have to do the ironing - won't matter if we look a little crumpled will it?

A dessert island sounds lovely Tec, but you two are destined for a desert island.

Allan Report 6 Nov 2009 22:51

Linda,

Wattle we think of next!

I love the Wattle trees and bushes.

For some strange reason I associate the perfume from some varieties with Christmas when I was a child in the UK
