Good evening Linda

Allan (I think!)

Or as Descartes said "I'm pink, therefore I'm Spam"

or am I putting Descartes before De Horse?

I am indeed back, after an enjoyable if very wet night with friends.

Eighteen months ago, we bought enough second hand cinema seats to replace the old ones in the balcony, then when another local cinema closed down, we bought enough seats to replace the whole of the ground floor in the cinema. It has been hard work because every seat we have bought has had to be cleaned and then we have had to have a series of working days to take all the old seats out and put the new ones in.

As we did it, all the old seats were then taken to a local farm which is owned by the person who is chairman of the cinema.

Someone had the good idea of burning them on bonfire night, this is the second year we have done it and they a re more or less gone now. They make a tremendously hot bonfire and there is just a reasonably small amount of scrap metal left over.

It has been a very good way to get rid of them, plus a nice social occasion as all the committee turn out and the farm owners kindly provide lots of food

oops, I had to edit my post as it had lots of mistakes in it, too much mulled wine I think

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 22:54

Linda,
That sounds as if it's been a mammoth task, a lot of man/woman hours, and a dedicated team. What a good idea to get rid of the old unwanted seats.
Allan and I have been two very well behaved young men, in your absense,
I obviously can't spell abscense, and I can't blame the mulled wine. So don't believe anything you may hear to the contary,

Tec

Sounds like you had a good time, Linda. Makes you not think about the weather, doesn't it? - especially when the wine flows!

I would think that Allan has been on the wine but for the time of day it is over there - maybe lack of sleep? or too much tripping around the Chat board. Must take a lot of energy jumping around the threads - and they say that women don't admit to their age!

I know what you have been up to in my absence, you don't take much tracking down

Thank's Berona for watching the terrible twin's, and I explained to ( Flick ) my cat and she forgive's you, I too am( fullfilled ) bad joke, but only popped back to tell you all I have to go, need to check and print out information about Employer's and Employee's right's on Term's and condition's of contract and how to right a contract out for Employee. I never haveing been employed the way I am now, I totally forgot that when you start a job you sign a contract of employment and because when I originally took this job I thought it would only last a couple of yrs. Thinking over the last few wk's about as an employee what were my right's I realised I hadn't signed a contract, so I need to find out what's what.

Goodnight/morning all

My own ethical Thread has served its purpose so I shall whoosh it sometime during the week, but before Sue returns.

That way when the girls try explaining to Sue what has happened, they will have no proof!!

Goodnight Diane.

Allan if you think sue is likely to believe you and Tec over we ladies, you are sadly mistaken

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Nov 2009 23:11

Please don't whoosh the Ethics thread too soon. I don't often wander onto other threads, it' makes a change to get out and about sometimes, quite exciting,

Tec,

Berona may be on her own

Linda is legless, Carole is quite rightly worrying about the imminent fire season

What strife can we create now?
