Tec - are you happy with the dining room windows? They can be replaced, you know.

Allan

Allan Report 11 Nov 2009 22:12

Tec,

Keep the Dining Room windows but build a new Dining Room around them

Berona Report 11 Nov 2009 22:18

Tec - I hope you are passing on all of these suggestions to the duchess. It should be enough to make you rush out and buy the paint; do the job and have it done before she starts to think about the rest of it!

You see - us women are not stupid! When we want something done, we know how to go about getting it done!

Tec, just going back to your earlier post regarding Rex Pacificus

reminded me of the parodies of latin phrases such as

Sic transit gloria mundi (thus passeth all worldly glory)

Translation: Our Gloria was sick on the bus last Monday

Tec,
I'm in the middle of having my house decorated. A bit of work needs doing to it. I've only got a 2 up and 2 down so I'm a bit cramped for space!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2009 22:28

There will be no changes to the dining room, except perhaps the curtains that I've never liked anyway - oh and we do need a new candelabra for when the Duchess has one of her candle lit suppers.

Berona...........You're stirring it - typical

Does anyone think that Diane and Barbra are working for Counter Intelligence?

Tec

Persephone Report 11 Nov 2009 22:31

Thank you Berona - will go to the bank with it later.

Barbra - I believe there will be eight plus us two but you are most welcome - you and Tec can bring the loaves and Allan the fishes.

Peaceful Rex - my son won't be coming I don't have one - have you been mixing Southern Comfort with your doughnuts again?

I remember one night after a work's evening out everyone came to our place for coffee and I was trying to multiply cars by people by how many cups etc and I shoved coffee bags in a host of cups (coffee bags were a new idea back in the seventies) and just poured the kettle over them all in one swift movement don't whether they were sloshed or was it me.

Counter Intelligence....I like it. A phrase that can be taken in sooo many ways!

Do you think that it applies to the entire Sisterhood??

Hi Perse,
Your story reminded me about teabags and a teapot. I made a teapot of tea for 6 people and I put 7 bags in there. It was very strong! i don't drink tea so I didn't know!

Persephone

Persephone Report 11 Nov 2009 22:37

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2009 22:37

Pat,
Plenty of space here - I've got four spare bedrooms, I bought this house so that I could hide when I wanted - it's very convenient at times.

Perse, I will have to backtrack on your posts, who was it then said about brooming? am I finally losing it?

Oh I do hope so.

Allan , loved your Latin translation - brilliant

Perse,
That takes me back. I did latin at school! Sister Bernadette taught me!
Tec, If I'd had a house with 4 bedrooms it would still be filled with with stuff!

Tec - I think you should still put in a claim for that mansion which might have been in your family. Otherwise, where are we all going to sleep? and you did promise me a room of my own!

Ladies - please keep an eye on the terrible two. I am going out for a little while - only to do my favourite chore - supermarket shopping! We have been promised a hot one to-day, so I'm off now so that I can get back before it gets too uncomfortable to be out in it!

I'll be looking in later, but if Allan is off to work and Tec goes to bed, things should be quiet for a few hours. I'm still not too sure about Colin, though!
Have a good day, those south of the equator - good night to those up north!

At Uni in the mens' toilets some wag had written in German :

Gott mit uns (which means God be with us)

and underneath was written:

Nah! Only gloves, will they do?

That's why I'm not painting the dining room
