Just before I go, your post reminded me of writing on the wall of a Ladies' toilet:

First comment: My mother made me a lesbian.

Second comment: If I buy the wool, will she make me one, too?

Well Tec as it seems that the Sisterhood have collectively slunk away, I think that we may claim another victory.

And it now appears safe for me to disappear

Take care and give my regards to the Duchess

Hello to Onwe - another Queenslander *woops and hollers excitedly*

Thanks Barbra for the special message.

By the way, I dunno about the Counter Intelligence - wouldn't a Bar be better? Hic!

Ciao Bellas

Alison, stay beautiful. With love and affection and much {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} xxColin.
Latin... did it for three years (and passed). but that was 46 years ago so don't remember a lot. My old school's motto was Enitere ad finem (Strive to the end). Being a boys only school we boys quickly changed it to Enitere ad filiam (the girl). When the school merged with the girls school some decade after I left it adopted the more pedestrian Facta non Verba.
I defy anyone to translate Sydney University's motto Sidere Mens Eadem Mutato. Something about mental potatoes I think. Or maybe the stars of Oxford and Cambridge?
The Macquarie University is a modern one (1967) and doesn't have a Latin motto. It's in Old English.

Evening,

The school motto for Auckland Girls' Grammar School was Per angusta ad augusta.
I probably thought it was meant to be Angostura - which I believe is scarce as 'rocking horse' **** at the moment.

My day:
Re new Pantry door – I was asked to help, and then I got told I was replaced by a jandal (stuck under door).
Little while later – can you help – I said sorry I was made redundant. To which the reply was no you were made re'dumb'dant. & then the fight no it didn't.

I was sitting on the window seat having a flat white & a melting moment for my afternoon smoko when I felt this sharp pricking through the thigh part of the leg of my jeans – I grabbed to pull my jeans away. I was stung twice by a wasp – once in my leg and the second time just slightly in one of my fingers. I got up grabbing my thigh trying to undo my belt with one hand – left jeans and belt inside out on lounge floor ouch!!. We used to put bluebag (no longer in vogue) on stings when we were kids. He grabbed an ice cube, so I am holding this to my leg with the water running down my leg – so then needed a towel. He seized opportunity and took a big bite of my melting moment.(& then the fight.... no did not have the strength) I now have baking soda paste on sting, which is now a rather large red blotch with a purple epicenter – jeans are back on (one must remain seemly whilst on computer) but it is still stinging over three hours later. I have taken two panadol, and they have not worked.

I did get the lawn mowed before all this.

Must be near time for Alison so fingers crossed everyone. I can cross my legs right over left - not the other way ouch!!

All the best Alison
