Well Sue your not the only one who has met some-one famous, Cliff Richard, when he played Button's in Cinderella, I went backstage and got his autograph, I have also hob nobed with a past Bishop of Liverpool, David Shepherd, and often went and had coffee at Bishop's Lodge with his wife Grace, I live 10min's from Ken Dodd and visited his mum many time's in his house at Knotty Ash when her grand-son's visited her, they were my friend's, and guess what ( we had jam Buttie's ) from Doddy's Butty mine. Is that mixing with the famous or what LOL

No toilet playing today - new cistern installed in ensuite.
No Grocery shopping - we went on what is known as a Tiki Tour yesterday - himself was wanting to go all over the place before I actually got to the supermarket.

Yes Tec I'm not as old as you but I remember Gracie Field's because my dad liked her, and no I'm not saying your as old as my dad.

When the cruise ships called at Naples, everyone used to go off to Capri to see Gracie's house, but apparently she didn't mind and would often come down to the gate to speak.

Yes, I remember Gracie - just! Now, there was another untrained natural! I thought of her when I first saw Susan Boyle.

Susan Boyle is amazing isn't she Berona, beautiful voice, I may buy her new album that comes out next week I think.

Apparently, Gracie Fields went to Australia during the war to entertain the soldiers.........I vaquely remember her in a film when I was very young, leading a crowd of factory workers out of a factory in northern England, with "Sing As We Go" that was in the dark ages of course.

My first visit to the cinema was aged four, taken to see "The Wizard Of Oz",
apparently I ran out screaming because I was afraid of the witch. My mother caught up with me outside in the street.

Been looking for the yellow brick road ever since.

Other less famous one's were, Sid Short, Weany Wally and Little Evan

We saw them in the Butty mine that was an exstention of the house, it is still there and I pass his house every week when I go shopping

Absolutely foul here in Wild Wales. Rain, gale blowing in off the sea enough to blow your hat off - if you were wearing one.

Tec - the bad weather sounds never ending. I hope you are getting the rest you need and that your lady is doing well.

I too will be off early as we have to help prepare a luncheon for about 50 people. At the end of the year we hold a luncheon for people who help us raise money by working quietly in the background. They are generally not members but just support us in different ways. It's a busy day but the feeling of good will is great and we all enjoy the work and the lunch.

Diane - you beat me on being up there with the rich and famous:-))

Alison - we are concerned about you so if you're looking in please drop a quick line to let us know how you are.

Hope you are bright eyed and bushy tailed today!
Yes the bad weather goes on and on. But we can't complain, unlike the poor souls that have lost everything in other areas. There is more heavy rain forecast for them tonight.
The Duchess is ok, I'm keeping a close watch. As for me, well I'm just being plain lazy I'm afraid. Not doing much as recent events did rather knock the stuffing out of me. Never been one for sitting about, so when I do, I have pangs of guilty conscience thinking of what I should be doing.

Your luncheon is a brilliant thing to do to show recognition to those who have helped the organisation. Creates further goodwill, and shows their efforts are appreciated. I hope it goes well, and everyone enjoys themselves - though I'm sure it is hard work for some of you.
