I don't know what look, Tec.

The only look I get from my OH is the one just before she bursts out laughing!

Women are such cruel creatures!

I wouldn't mention about standing in a hole, Tec. Many of the women on here will do the female superioty bit with a comment like that! But at least us males know what you mean

Sheesh!

Who tells jokes a million times?

I can usually only manage 144 times, and even that is a gross exaggeration!

By the way, have you heard the one about the Polar Bear in a Pub??

Allan

Allan Report 12 Aug 2009 23:44

OK Tec, just for you.

A Polar Bear is in a pub

The barman walks over to take his order

The Polar Bear says.....

"I'll have a whisky...........
.
.
.
.
.
.
......and soda, please"

"Why the big pause?" asks the barman

"I dunno," says the Polar Bear, "I've always had them"

SueMaid,

that last comment of yours actually had me chuckling.

I am not sure whether he ever made it over here but back in the UK in the 60's/70's there was a guy called Blaster Bates.

He was a demolition expert turned comedian and after-dinner speaker.

Very crude but absolutely hilarious.

He used that phrase in his story of blowing up a tree trunk at one of the famous racecourses in the uk and how that particular spot got the name Knicker Brook!

Allan

Allan Report 13 Aug 2009 00:01

Of course I'm brave now that Tec is back.

With the two of us we could conquer the world

By the way.....hammers, cudgels, pieces of 4 x 2's I'm beating you with words

LOL

Sorry to leave you with your back to the wall Allan - but seeing as you and SueMaid are on opposite sides of the Continent I think you'll be safe for a few hours......and when she's drunk that bottle of wine, she won't get a flight anyway.....

I've just had THE LOOK from my OH, which means it's bedtime - so G'Day
to you my friends - enjoy whatever you do today.........

Goodnight
Tec.

Good morning everyone - and welcome home Tec.

I remember The Goons (on radio) - now, that does make me feel old!
Last time I visited the Central coast, Spike's mum was still active and very well-known in the district. Spike was on "another honeymoon" at the time - that's how it was told to me. Until then, he had been living with his Mum - not sure, but I believe it was in Woy Woy. It's a long while ago, though.

We still haven't had the rain we were promised. Tuesday night the thunder and lightning came, then the rain - for about 45 seconds! To-day is already sunny and a promise of 21. I'm going for my weekly drive. It's beautiful in the car with the sun shining in. Cosy and warm with the fresh air blowing in the tops of the windows. No, I don't wind them right down - just enough to get the fresh air!!

Allan, I'm so glad I didn't offend you with whatever it was I said. I spent some time yesterday, going over old posts, looking for it but to no avail.
It was no doubt submitted to one of those threads which I try to keep off, but sometimes get drawn to say something - and which invariably get whooshed, anyway!

Don't know why I keep humming "When the red red robin, comes bob, bob boddin' along" and I imagine a man in tights bounding towards us. I have nothing to say to him, but I might ask him to remove his post if I don't like it's content. He can be very offensive.

G'day all

Its a beaut, sunny morning here, woke this morning to the majestic sounds of the bird life. Spring is certainly not far!

Sue.. Thank-you so much for your kind offer of the book you mentioned :-))

Tec, welcome back.... so glad you enjoyed your break.
How lucky you were to have known your Great Grandparents, I envy you!!

Allan, this is for you I read it in my morning paper yesterday..

What do you call a man with four planks of wood on his head?
I don't know, but Edward Woodward would !!

Linda.. How lucky are you, to have your very own garden plot.
Ive seen those on our Lifestyle shows, on the TV.
Where I live, we have quite a few market gardens, where I go to buy our fruit and veg. You can definitely taste the difference between the fruit and veg you buy at the supermarket and those purchased from the market garden's

Welcome to Ann in Adelaide:))

Hi, to all others :))
Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good morning, Berona,

You can have some of our rain! At the moment the weather is nice and bright following early showers.

On the plus side, the temps at night are such that we only need minimal heating on.

Enjoy your drive

I'm off out later with my OH to do some shopping...she only wants me to go because I've got a Seniors' Card!

Hello Folks,

Hope everyone is well. We had 31 degrees yesterday. I need to save up, because I think I may be having a massive power bill this Summer. Yuck.

Have a great day. I have my sister coming to visit for a few days and I need to make it look like I actually clean the house now and then. Ewwww. Was it Phyllis Diller who said she hated housework, because you do it all and six months later, you have to do it all again?

Sure hope Tec isn't missing that roundabout he was so fond of!

See ya
