Good morning / evening to one and all

Good Morning Aussies
Good Evening Poms,

Thank you Sue and Allan for your kind good wishes to my OH, She is a little better this evening thank you - especially after eating dinner that I concocted - not exactly cordon bleu, but edible.

Enjoy your day Sue in your Mothers garden - I treated myself to some blue agapanthus plants while I was away, high hopes for them. The magnolia in my garden is blooming for the second time this year.

Allan .....That joke was beyond the pale.....where do you get them? I know some blonde jokes - but not knowing who on here is blonde, maybe I should keep them to myself. Coward!

Colin.........SueMaid knows I'm a pussycat really - and would probably laugh at Allan and I ganging up on her. I'm sure she doesn't mind me giving Allan moral support when he's out on a limb.
Although I am still thinking about being described as a giggling school girl!!

Regards
Tec.

G'day Tec

I cook but it is normally cordon spew!

that joke was sent via email by one of the most vivacious American women that it has been my pleasure to meet.

She is a local lady who works for the Department of the Environment in Bunbury. I've known her for approx 23 years. She is extremely helpful and is 100% personality.

All my male coleagues say the same thing, and lest any posters on here get the wrong idea, she is also of our vintage. She is also short, about 5' but her partner, who I have also known for 20 years makes up for that by being about 6' 6"...and that's just across his shoulders!

Hello Everyone,

Once again I haven't been around for ages. It's a really nice sunny morning here today. Cold inside though, my right hand it freezing from sitting on the mouse. Once I finish playing about here I might have to go and get some sun.

Allan, do you have joke book or just a really good memory?

Good Morning Allan,

Good thing the storms passed you by..........

My SIL lives in Hong Kong - she was lucky to have missed the typhoon that hit Taiwan and Eastern China

What time is it in WA? i WILL GET MY HEAD AROUND IT EVENTUALLY

Hello Tec,

I'm sure that Allan will reply to this himself too but I thought I'd share the exciting news with you that in NSW it's about 8.35am. WA is two hours behind us.

Alison

Allan

Allan Report 13 Aug 2009 23:38

6.35 am Tec

7 hours ahead of UK

2hrs behind eastern states

And then there's South Australia.

Wait till September when all the times get adjusted again (except WA and I think Queeensland)

We all need three watches just to keep up!

Allan

Allan Report 13 Aug 2009 23:40

Hi Alison,

Some would say that WA is 20 years behind the rest of the world!!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Aug 2009 23:40

Good Morning Alison,

Thank you for sorting that out for me - wow Allan must be an early riser

Why are you sitting on that mouse?........just wondered

I'm not sitting on the mouse!!!! My right hand is on the computer mouse 'cause that's the one I use to navigate but I suspect you already new that!! If it was a real mouse I was sitting on it would be well and truly squashed.

I am so pleased that in the UK it is the same time everywhere - must be very confusing, especially for busnesses in the various Aussie States

Hi Fiona - don't think we've met on a thread before.

Tec,

very early riser. If the weather is OK I'm normally up at 3.00am for a nice long walk and back home 5.30'ish.

If the weather is poor then I am normally up at 5.00am

As you can gather...I ain't night person

Berona Report 13 Aug 2009 23:50

Morning everyone. Another lovely day promised. Hopefully will get to 21 again. This is August, normally our coldest month with bad winds. No sign of any wind yet!

Allan is an early riser, Tec. He takes 3am walks - now I didn't say what our overnight temperatures are! Anything from 5 or 6 DOWN!!

Alison

Alison Report 13 Aug 2009 23:52

Tec,

Imagine how it would be for business on the NSW QLD border. Tweed Heads is in NSW and Coolangatta in QLD and are literally side by side. NSW had daylight savings but QLD doesn't (clever people).

Also don't know if you know this but Broken Hill which is in NSW actually runs on South Australian time which is half an hour behind NSW. We are an interesting country.

Alison

P.S. Hello Berona, haven't talked to you for ages.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Aug 2009 23:53

Allan.........

I can't imagine getting up at 3am and going for a walk - I am normally unconscious at that time.
Was up at six today, thought that was early..............

A very good evening to you Susan with numbers...any luck with grandad Clifford?

As most of us are ex poms anyway, the weather is a fascinating subject. At least people can't feel slighted by it and press the RR button!!
