That makes you one of us, Pamela. I wouldn't try to work it out, as we are all either descended from Poms or we are still over there! It's quite a mixture on this thread - and everyone is welcome.

Hello Everyone !!

Whilst it is quiet here I wanted to take the opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may all your wishes come true in 2010.

The spirit of Christmas is found everywhere
In the cheer that we give and the warm way
that we care.!!

Love to you all and wishing you all Wealth, Health, laughter, love and happiness ..xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I might as well take the opportunity of wishing all the Aussies all they wish themselves. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
I'm usually here in the morning, so I'll catch the Poms then.

Alison, we referred to the previous millenium as 'Nineteen-O-five', 'Nineteen hundred & eleven', but later just 'Nineteen fifty', so I guess it's trial and error in the early years but will probably finish up as 'Twenty fifteen' or 'Twenty fifty' - not that many of us will be worried about the last one! We just had to be the ones who changed from 'hundred' to 'thousand'.
But who cares? We know what we mean!
Enjoy your Christmas and have a safe trip home.

I'm off to the fish market first thing in the morning so may not look in until later.

I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and may you all have good health and prosperity in the New Year.

I never thought when I started this thread that I would make such wonderful friends - you have all become very dear to me. We've shared laughter and tears. Thank you for your friendship and love. I hope sincerely that we will continue to be friends for many years to come. God bless you all.

Sue - first of all - congratulations! Post No.9500!!!

Thank you for your good wishes. When I tell anyone that I have made friends on a Chat board, they give me strange looks, but I'm proud of the friends I have made. I may talk to you again, but if not, I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and festive season and that we are all still chatting this time next year!

Happy Christmas!

Firstly hello to Pamela and welcome to the thread.

I am sorry to have missed you Alison,I hope you feel better every day. I think that you deserve Champagne ice cubes not lemonade ones.

I hope that your coach journey is trouble free Pat. We had more snow over night and the sky looks dark again this morning.

As Berona and Sue have said, we have indeed become good friends, both on this thread and in the background. I am certain that we will continue for a long time. I will keep buying the lottery tickets,so we can have that super meet one day!

I will be dotting in and out, especially as I have my new laptop on the go now, but I too wish a happy Christmas and a prosperous but more importantly a healthy new year to everyone

Good evening all!
i'm not even going to sort out the time differences!

A big welcome to Pamela: don't even try to work out who or what you are.

I came out here with my wife and young family in 1982 from the UK and I now consider myself a citizen of the world.

In case I miss anyone or they can't post because of the season, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year

Sincere Regards to all

Hi Everyone,

Hello Pamela - Welcome to the thread - I'm Tec, and live in Wales.

As it's already Christmas Eve in Oz, and nearly so for the Brits, I wanted to wish all my friends here a wonderful Christmas, whether you're enjoying the sunshine, or snuggled up to keep warm, I hope you have a great time with your family and friends.
May the joy and peace of Christmas be yours, thinking of you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

To all my friends on here, and their families, A Very Merry Christmas to you all, from myself and OH

You may also like to know that I was late this morning as I had to pass on my felicitations to all the wheelie bins, who all look very seasonal decked out in green!

Glad to hear the wheelie bins are in festive mood - hope you had your Santa hat on for your dawn patrol today

Allan Report 23 Dec 2009 21:49

Good evening Tec,

Nope I kept my Paddington hat on.

It really was a most glorious morning. Nice and cool, not a cloud in sight and light at 4.15am. The only difference between today and previous years is the lack of people going fishing.

Normally, at this time of the year the launching ramp is chokers and the car park full. Today there were two cars with trailers and that was the sum total.

Changes to both Recreational Boating Regulations as well as to the Fishing Regs have really put a dent in the sport. And I suppose that the recession hasn't helped, either

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Dec 2009 22:00

Allan,
Sounds like a truly beautiful morning there - enjoy it,

Seems such a shame when folk are discouraged from their pastimes by constant floods of regulations, rules, licences, etc etc.......

I have noticed over the past few years here, we see fewer and fewer small fishing boats out in the bay. It is no longer financially viable for the one man fisherman to go out there by the time he has paid for licence fees etc, and followed all the Health and Safety regs.

Hello all:-))

I braved the fish market at 7:30 this morning and there was hardly anyone in the queue. Lovely prawns and oysters and still at a reasonable price. I was a little peeved to find the strawberries and blueberries have nearly doubled in price but I guess that's what happens at Christmas.
