I'm not really a shoppaholic.
I'm going in town again on Thursday to meet a friend from work.
I think most of the shops were crowded so you're not missing much Linda!

Tec,
I've been keeping a diary since 1970.
My day used to start " got up early, went to school" Now it's " got up early ,went to work""

Hello all. I thought you'd all deserted me:-))

The RFDS is incredible and provides a wonderful service.

Tec - I heard on the news that the Sydney Harbour fireworks will be the best ever this year. Apparently it will all be done with microchips - don't ask me to explain:-))

In the two previous places we lived, New Year was always celebrated by the neighbours getting together. When we came here though, no one bothered, so we have just had a quiet time. This year for the first time we have been invited out to celebrate with some friends from the walking club

Pat,

Every year I vow to stay up and see the New Year in, every year I usually end up in bed at about 10.00pm.

I can still remember the days when NYD was not a public holiday in England. Back then England had Chriistmas Day and Boxing Day and Scotland had Christmas Day and New Year's Day as its public holidays

You are forgiven Allan,

I remember that as well Pat, but as I was teaching, I had the time off anyway

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Dec 2009 22:19

Our neighbours are mostly elderly (I am not included in that bracket)
except for one young family - so all is quiet here on New Years Eve.
This year I feel like waking them all up by doing something noisy and outrageous..........

Try to stay up a bit longer this year!

You could take up the bag pipes and declare Hogmanay Tec

What a brilliant idea Linda - my neighbours would love it I'm sure, especially the old lady next door who has always regarded me with suspition sp
When I first moved here she asked me where had she seen me before, and I replied "Probably on Crime Watch" I think she believed me lol

How does one spell suspition anyway? Oh Dear.

Tec

Allan

Allan Report 29 Dec 2009 22:33

Tec I suspect it is spelt suspicion :0))

Pat, every year I try, but every year I feel so tired. I'm a bit of a whuss anyway as I can't see what the big deal is.

Perhaps I have seen a few too many of them for my liking!

I couldn't manage without Ancestry.

I am sure that you are innocent Tec, either that or you just haven't been caught yet

Allan

I will have you all know that I have been checked out by the FBI - and cleared.
I was also issued with an Aliens Landing Card which had my mug shot on it and a serial number embossed across my face.
I am very proud of it.

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Dec 2009 22:50

You are an alien Tec? Which planet are you from?

Allan

Allan Report 29 Dec 2009 22:57

Gee whizz, another illusion shattered.

Here was I thinking that the existence of Aliens had still to be proven, and the Government have actually been issuing them with Landing Cards.

That was kept very quiet
