Berona Report 28 Dec 2009 22:53

We don't seem to have been joined by the men to-day. Hope all is well with them and their families.

Nice to see you back Pat. Also good to see Barbara dropping in to say hello.
Hello to you too Barbara. Happy New Year to you.

Sue - you do know that you will need a new outfit to go with the shoes and bag, don't you?
That was a horrific accident, and I can imagine how you felt. The early news was just that two children had been killed. Seems that the fuel tanker was seen to be driving on the wrong side of the road. I noticed that it was referred to as "a fiery accident". Sounds so unfeeling doesn't it? but then, I find a lot of unfeeling in news reports. The media only seem to be interested in sensation - and being FIRST to break the news. Feelings don't seem to come into it.

Oops - Tec has arrived while I was typing. Hello Tec!

Hi Berona - it was very worrying to read about the accident. You are right about how some news reports are written. I first read about it on the Yahoo home page and they had very little info. at that point. Just where it happened and that a number of people had died or been badly injured. Then the report said two children had died but no details would be released until next of kin had been informed. Thank goodness my daughter's partner thought to let us know they are ok.

Sorry Tec. I must have missed a page again. Well, that list of page numbers is getting very long! Pleased to know you are on deck and all is well.

Yes, Sue. I had this only a few weeks ago when it was flooding up near Grafton where there are a lot of accidents and my son and his family were on their way back from Queensland. You can't help worrying, can you?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 28 Dec 2009 23:13

Some good news though - the heavy rain is falling in drought stricken areas. Causing floods of course but the rain is much needed. A man on the report was saying that two of his grandchildren had never seen rain. Isn't that amazing?

Yes all is well Berona thanks - we both managed to get out to do some shopping at the supermarket today, in case the snow forecast is correct.
The road out of is along a cliff face, and I don't fancy negotiating that in the snow .

Berona Report 28 Dec 2009 23:32

That's all right Tec. Yes, I am definitely sober. I don't partake of the grape these days - not in my diet! I think it might just be lack of sleep. Two nights in a row is just too much for me - and no making up for it during the day. A good sleep is what I would like, but as soon as I lie down, the cramps start. My thyroid specialist recently reduced my dosage of medication. It's the only thing I can think of which might have caused it - and he's on holidays too!
I do have a banana each morning on my cereal but they ran out a couple of days ago. I'll have to get more.

Diane

Good night Diane. I can sympathise with you, as I've had two nights of hopping out of bed - doing the highland fling - with cramps - and no sleep.
I don't know how you can go to work after a sleepless night. Hope they give you some peace tonight.
