Hello CC, welcome to the thread, I saw that you have joined our merry band. As you have a low membership number, I assume that you have had other board names,so we may well have spoken before.

We just went to the supermarket to stock up and I was horrified to see a blizzard when we opened the door. We have only been away for two weeks, but I was getting used to the lovely warm tropical evenings. The house was horrendously cold when we got back, it is only just warming up

Good Evening CC,

Yes thanks, we are are quite warm, though as you say it is perishing out there. We haven't any snow thank goodness. I hope we don't get any because we have to travel quite a distance to a wedding on Sunday, through some very rugged country. The church is in a very out of the way, inaccessible area. Some guests are coming from Hong Kong, and Singapore - I hope they bring suitable clothing.

Hi again Linda,
I expect you will feel the cold for a few days. There wasn't much snow while you were away, I think it waited 'till you came back. Lucky you.
It is good to have CC on board - she appeared to be quite sane when she arrived on the thread, I wonder how long that will last after mixing with us lot. Did anyone warn her it was the Funny Farm?
Did you get into the local Mexican cuisine while you were away? or did you just survive on Miami Vice's? Is that vodka based?
Anyway good that you both enjoyed yourselves. Da iawn!

Tec

Hello everyone:-)) Linda I'm so pleased you're back - we missed you. By the way - you lost your bet:-)

Silly Tec for thinking that CC is quite sane. She isn't but she's nuts in the nicest way. Tec I hope all goes well for your trip to the wedding. It sounds like you'll have a lovely catch up with overseas visitors as I did. Hopefully our Duchess will be well enough to travel - it would be a shame for you both to miss the wedding.

I won't be on for very long this morning. I'm having a little meeting at my house to discuss the next step in the ongoing saga. We are seeing a solicitor in the morning so we must put together our facts and see where we go from here. I'll be glad when it's sorted as it is weighing on my mind.

Good Morning Sue,

How are you today? well I hope.

Yes I'm really hoping we can make it to the wedding. The Duchess is quietly quite excited about it. She will have relatives there that she doesn't get to see very often. Sadly, the last three family gatherings have been funerals, so a wedding will be nice.

I hope your meeting goes well today, and also the meeting with the solicitor - try not to worry, it will get sorted, and you can put it behind you, knowing you've done the right thing.

Hello Tec - yes I'm well thank you. I will be happier knowing this problem has been sorted but I do know I'm doing the right thing.

We have also been to 2 family funerals so it was lovely to catch up at a happier occasion. Has our Duchess bought a lovely new dress?

Tecwyn Report 10 Feb 2010 21:02

Yes Sue,

The Duchess couldn't decide what to wear to this wedding, it's an awkward time of year really with it being so cold. Anyway she eventually decided on a very smart dress and jacket in a sort of pink/lilac colour, the jacket has embroidery on it.
Obviously she will need to wear a coat at the church, so her very smart best coat will get an outing. She is not a hat person, so there will be no hat.

I'm going in knee length khaki shorts, and a pith helmet.

Tec - you must send me a photo. It'll be framed and hung on the wall. You in your safari outfit and the Duchess dressed like....well a duchess:-)) People will say "who's that crazy man" and I'll tell them he's a dear friend:-))

I just wish I had the bottle to turn up like that - trouble is the Duchess would disown me,

Knowing the bride, as I do, she would find it hysterical, and wouldn't mind a bit.

I have an eccentric brain, but wish I had the courage to go with it,
always looking for ways to astound and horrify my so sedate neighbours

Berona Report 10 Feb 2010 21:14

Good evening/morning all. I won't say anything about the weather, seeing that it's so cold where some of you are - but to-day should be the same as yesterday and the day before here. That's all I'll say about it.

Linda - we've been waiting for you to come out from under your sombrero - missed you very much - specially when Allan took off in Sue's absence (AGAIN!!). This time, he managed to bring a lot of males out of the woodwork. So glad you enjoyed the trip, although the waiting on the trip home doesn't sound very enviable. How long did you go without sleep?

Sue - your idea of a meeting to get your facts together, is good. Make a copy and leave it with the solicitor after you have gone through it with him/her. Don't get too stressed. You are going about it the right way - and sharing it with the committee, who will no doubt support you all the way. Best of luck with it - but yes, I too, would be wanting to put it behind me as soon as possible.

Good Morning Berona,

How are you today?

We don't mind you telling us how warm it is in Sydney - it's kind of comforting to know someones warm, and not freezing their knickers off, and reminds us that summers coming - eventually.

Good morning, Berona. Already warm here and promises to be hot and sticky. However it's getting lighter later in the morning so autumn is on the way. Hope you are well.

Good evening/morning all.

Linda welcome back. I'm surprised that you still wish to communicate with us Gringos :0)) . i was put up to postin my new thread by a completely 'sane' newcomer to Sue's thread!

Tec I thought that people only wore pith helmets when it was pithind down, not snowing!

I do hope that you and the Duches can make the wedding.

Sue, all the best for your meetina and as Berona says you are doing things by the book so there is no need to worr on that score.

Hello Berona, you make me sound like a communist radical. I don't know which is worse: that or being likened to Jack the Ripper :0))

Good morning, Allan - hope you are well. You've been a bit naughty but I forgive you 'cos your renegade thread is funny:-))

I must go as much as I would love to stay and chat. Take care and enjoy your day/evening.

Tec - your choice of attire for the wedding, appeals to me. Please have photos taken with the duchess. I can't quite put it together in my imagination, so would like to see the photos.

I am well, thanks Sue. I hope you are too. In fact, you need to be 'fighting fit' for what you have going at the moment, but I'm sure it will all come out well in the end. You may lose a couple of volunteers, but if that's how they feel, so be it - you'll be better off without them.

Still no word from Diane? or have I missed her? I know I said she may have gone upstairs and committed murder and been taken away - but I was only joking!!!! Diane - come back to us soon. We are concerned for you!

Good Morning Allan,

Are you sparkling this morning?

As it's always pithind down in Wales, a pith helmet is a very handy piece of kit.

Berona, I'll be the very personification of sartorial elegance in my khaki shorts and pith helmet

Hi Everyone,
I've had a lazy day today. My new bed came early this morning. I had planned to go shopping and buy a duvet. However yesterday I was altar serving at a funeral and after mass I was helping someone fold up a cloth. I bent down funny and I did something to my back! Hence a nice new bed but no duvet. I didn't feel like going out!

Good evening Pat.

I won't ask how you are :0))

Backs are very fickle things and it seems that he most trivial of things can have them going into spasms, as I know only too well.

is it still cold in the deep south of England?
