Nite Pat, Hope you have a restful nights sleep...

I seemed to have missed whole chunks of posts?

Hi Pat, Glad to hear your back is a little better, and I hope you find the new bed super comfy, but don't forget to get up for work tomorrow.

Allan, That is really very interesting about the sketches and the coach trimmers, and opens up a whole new avenue of research - good luck with it, keep us informed.

CC,

Now that I have the names of the coach builders, and their location. I am hoping that somewhere there will be a record of their apprentices that i can search.

Interestingly in the 1911 census my granfather listed his birthplace as London. I can now narrow that down to a more specifc locality!

Janet, I used to enjoy doing courses at evening classes. The last one I did was the Russian language course - no idea why - not much use in darkest Wales, and we don't get many Russian tourists in these parts.

I used to take Adult Literacy classes, and enjoyed teaching young adults to read and write. Very satisfying when they've achieved something at the end of the course.

Berona Report 11 Feb 2010 23:03

I can't get my head around having a pet rat!! I have had cats all my life and at times, dogs and budgies, but I could never touch the budgies. If they need to be handled, I always got someone else to do it. This stems from my young uncles teasing me with the chickens and the rooster when visiting my grandparents at a young age. I still can't touch anything with feathers - but I can't see them hurt either - I go and get help for them.

I don't like small furry creatures either Berona, rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, never appealed to me. I used to breed and show canaries as a teenager. I like cats and dogs. We haven't had a cat for years, but always dogs. Now I have a black labrador, he's getting on a bit now, but he's like a shadow, if you see me you see him - he's a great mate.

I hope that you have bought a nice new doggy coat for the wedding Tec, i assume that you are taking him

Allan

Allan Report 11 Feb 2010 23:23

I must admit that I am a cat person myself.

When I was a real youngster we had a dog and then after my mother died and my father came over to Oz , my OH and myself inherited their Yorkshire Terrier.

But I'll stick with cats!

No Linda, My dog is not invited.
I meant to tell you the neighbours that own the local cinema - local being ten miles away, are selling the lease. Other neighbours are trying to buy it to save the cinema to run on a non profit making basis.
I hope they manage it

Good morning to the thread.

I hope your neighbours do get to buy the cinema lease Tec. Our little cinema is thriving,so it can be done.

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

CC.......What you need for your cold feet problem in bed is a warming pan. One of those copper ones on a long handle. Fill it with hot coals about an hour before you go to bed - brilliant - warm feet. Should you not have one, and if not - why not? then a stone hot water bottle, or one of these new fangled rubber ones inside a furry cover.
I also hope the cinema gets saved - apart from providing an important social venue for the locals, it's somewhere for the visitors to go on a wet day in the summer - there is very little else to do here on a wet day.

Linda.......I've been out dodging the Porches, Ferrari's, and Lamborghines,
knowing my luck more likely to get mown down by a tractor.

Hello, Tec and CC. I don't feel very well this morning. I think I have a summer cold. So I want cossiting and if I leave suddenly then I'm having a lie down:-((

Good Morning Sue,

I'm very sorry to hear that you are feeling a trifle delicate this morning - what has brought that on?
Yes, you need cossiting - wrapped in a fleecy blanket, plied with hot drinks, chocolate biscuits, and anything decadent that takes your fancy.
Soon you'll be tripping about like an 18 yr old wondering what you're getting for Valentines Day - hope you're better soon,

Hello, Tec - I think Valentines Day is for the young:-)) Just a summer cold I think - a little headachy and sniffly. I'll milk it for all it's worth:-))

Are you getting ready for the wedding? Hope the Duchess stays well as it will be wonderful for her to see all the rellies.

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2010 20:43

Yes Sue, milk it for all it's worth - got to be worth at least a day off - unplug the phone - put the mobile in a bucket of water.
How did your meeting with solicitor go, and are you any happier now?

My daughter and co are coming tomorrow (Sat) and we are travelling to the wedding together, but in separate cars on Sunday. They are then coming back here on Sunday evening, and going home on Monday. Next week is half-term here.
It takes about two and half hours travelling, and the wedding is at 2 o'clock, so we are calling for a pub lunch on the way to the wedding. OH can't go too long without food, and as the reception is 3 o'clock, we thought that would be a good idea.
I am keeping a very close eye on herself, and keeping everything crossed
that she will be ok on the day.

It sounds like a lovely day, Tec. I do hope it works out.

The meeting with the solicitor was good - in one way. He made it clear we definately have legitimate concerns - and legal obligations. All a bit scary but somehow comforting in that we were congratulated on the way we have handled the problem so far.
