Good morning Allan. You live in an exotic place,so while it is nice for you to have a break, you won't need to travel quite so far as we do.

Tec, I don't know about phsycho - analysed, you seem to be half way ther anyway!!!!

Bye Sue, Good luck with solicitor,

Good Morning Allan,
Hope you are well, I know what you mean about changes being gradual, things do seem to creep up on you almost un-noticed.

Linda.........Half way where?

Linda,

Australind exotic? I think that the tourism people in the Shire of Harvey would love to talk to you.

Its funny, and probably a case of it's always greener, but to me, now, Yorkshire is exotic, so is Wales and Scotland.

I'm just starting to archive my old slides and negatives on my computer and came across some photos we had taken at Horton-in-Ribblesdale many years ago when we were still living in England. A whole flood of memories came back!

Tec, I was thinking that you were already half way to phsycho - analysed. You can choose which half I meant!!!

Alan, I am sure you are doing Australind down, or at least I hope you are. Everyone else seems to live in nice places anyway

Linda I've been sufficiently analysed medically,
but no one mentioned phsycho, and having seen the film, I'm glad they didn't..........

Hello CC,
We have an allotment which keeps us busy for most of the time. We take all of our veg peelings etc down to the compost heaps. In the winter we don't really want to go, so our son bought OH a worm farm for Xmas. We are just getting it going. Sue's OH has a worm farm as well.

My son used to have garter snakes when he was younger. One was fine, but it died after we gave it a swim once, I don't know why because they are supposed to like that. The one we got to replace it was viscious, it clamped it's jaws onto the finger of one of his friends once and wouldn't leave go. we had to prise the jaws open to get it off

Yes CC........Phsycho is the one with the shower scene - gave me the creeps for a long time - now we have glass doors on the shower.

Chocolate is bad for people with a tendency for hyper behaviour - makes them worse apparently.

Well, I'm here. I've been here for quite a while, but have been updating my reading! Good evening/morning to all.

Tec, I'm still thinking about that one. A few things came immediately to mind, but I will try to put them into some kind of order before I write them down.

Well all,

A little bit of good news in my search for my grandfather's early years.

For some time now I have been going on about a sketch book which I think was my grandfather's, although the dates of the sketches are too early to have been done by him.

Well, in all, there are three sketch books and I have now, by dint of spending most of yesterday, got them in chronological order, but more to the point, noe have a starting point for a search not of my grandfather, but for my gt grandfather.

One of the sketch books has working drawings for the decals on a Royal Mail Coach. What the sketch also shows is the cypher of the Sovereign at the time George IV.

All Royal Mail coaches had the cypher of the reigning Monarch of the time on them on the front boot.

The only company that made these coaches was established by John Besant and when he died his partner, John Vidler took over the contract. The Manufactuary was based in Millbank London. As the coaches didd not change in any major way until 1835 I'm assuming thet the sketches were done either by my gt grandfather or his father.

On my Grandfather's marriage certificate, his fathers occupation was given as Coach Trimmer.

So I now have to find a list of apprentice coach trimmers to try to find my Gt grandfather.

George IV reigned from 1820-1830 and this sketch book comes first in the three I have. The second one, which has my "famous" sketches of Toronto, starts in 1844.

So whilst still a large gap of years to span, it has narrowed my search down somewhat!

My niece has a pet rat CC. I don't see the attraction myself. My children both had gerbils when they were younger. We kept them in fish tanks and in deep peat,so they could burrow, they only needed cleaning out every few months. They were no trouble at all, until one of them died in the tunnel and we didn't notice for a few days.

Good morning Janet and Berona. I am glad my studying days are long gone Janet.

The holiday was good Pat, apart from the overnight flight delay on the way back

Good Morning Berona,

How are you today?
Sorry to have set you such a ponderous question LOL,
I'll try to think up another little gem, just to keep you on your toes.
What are your thoughts on the Theory of Evolution this morning LOL.

Hi Janet.....Hope you are well, you're obviously very busy - take care.

I think that we are never too old to learn more about anything. Admittedly, when you get to my age, the attention span shortens, but I still absorb every new thing I learn. I can no longer compete with the contestants on TV who need to answer quickly - I have the answer in my head, but don't seem to get it out until after they have answered and been declared correct! That makes it look like I am only copying what they said, so if anyone is near me, I just keep quiet!
