Good evening, Pat. Sorry to learn you have 'cricked' your back. Plenty of rest is usuall what it needs, but if it continues, don't leave it very long before you see someone about it. It can happen so easily.

By the way, did you know that Little White Dove was posting as Patricia for a while? She couldn't reinstate her former name and seemed to settle for Tricia(numbers). I didn't think there could be two with the same name, but it could have been a temporary 'bug'.

Hi Allan,
It is still cold down South. Snow is forecasted for Surrey and Kent. Talking of backs, I used to think it was only tall people who had problems with their backs. I'm just over 5ft 3in and until this Christmas I hardly ever had a problem. I had a twingy back over Christmas. I blamed that on waiting around in a coach station for a couple of hours and carrying a heavy rucksack!

Allan Report 10 Feb 2010 22:37

Pat I can assure you that bad backs are not confined to tall people.

I'm only 5' 8" and get the occasional spell with a bad back.

However, a heavy rucksack, if not properly adjusted, will do it every time!

Hi Berona,
No I didn't know there was another Patricia. I've only go on about 5 threads bookmarked. I don't really call myself Patricia but when I fill in proper forms etc. I use my full name and it came through on the boards like it.
Hopefully my back will be ok by the weekend.

Good Evening Pat,

I sympathise with you and you having back pain - that is so awkward, makes you frightened to bend down - hope you are better soon, try to keep your back warm if you can.

Thanks Tec,
I'm going to bed now,
I'm quite tired. I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm sat at a desk so it isn't too bad.
Night

Page 3 of this Chat board, Pat. It seems that she now has a different board name, but I don't know how she was able to use Patricia while you are using it. As I said, must have been a GR 'bug'.

Berona,
Out of interest, what are the greatest changes you have seen in your country in your lifetime? Pluses and Minuses

Allan, What are the biggest changes since you arrived in Australia.

Berona,

That's a tough question and do you mean social or physical changes, and changes for the better or worse?

My apologies to yourself and Berona Tec

I thought that Berona, had asked the question.

* note to self: read all the post including the name of the poster *

Tec I will respond fully tomorrow as there have been so many that I want to weigh the positives with the negatives

Tec - that's a tough one to answer on the spur of the moment. I'll have to think about it. There have been major changes in my lifetime. I'll think about it and get back to you, possibly tomorrow. I need to get going now, so wouldn't give you a proper answer.

To all those who are retiring to their beds - keep warm and cosy - and sleep well. To Allan and anyone facing the day - stay out of the heat and keep cool!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 10 Feb 2010 23:15

Don't apologise Allan, easily done as I know too well,

It is a tough question, especially first thing in the morning LOL,
it's something that interestsme - there have been so many changes in the UK, even since you left - I wondered if Australia had changed so dramatically.

Tomorrow will be fine, give you time to think about it, and I'll be more awake too, as it's nearly my bedtime.

Hello everyone...

We have been having some horrendous weather, I never thought I would say this but I hate rain and Ive had enough!!!! anyone that wants it is welcome to it:-))
Yesterday we had 77 mils of rain, our little town was flooded and storm damaged. My sister had a tree down in her front yard which had fallen on their boat saving the house, no one was injured thank god!!!
Today we had more rain but not as bad as yesterday, but there has been a mud slide on the main road into our town, today - I haven't seen the news reports yet as we haven't had power on for about 4 hours so I don't know how bad it is or if anyone has been injured. On our other entry into town the road is also blocked - a tree has fallen on a car blocking traffic in both directions, this is the way my son comes home from work. He was due to leave work at 5.30 this evening and I'd been madly trying to contact him on his mobile to let him know about the road blocks, I finally contacted him and he is still stuck in traffic jams about 250 meters from his work. I hope he comes home soon cos I'm worried sick!!!!!!

Berona you can have my rain now, please:-)))

Welcome back Sydney Bloke, I hope all is well with you:-)

Welcome back also to Linda, so glad you had a great holiday. Time to plan the next one:-))??

Has anyone heard from Diane??

I hope you are all well/cool/dry/warm whatever the case may be:-))

Carole:-))

Edit: my son has come home:-)))
