Well, it's time for my run on the treadmill.....Who am I kidding? "run"??? - well my walk! My doc told me not to use it as it may 'throw' me. I don't think she knows how slow you can set them!!! I only walk very slowly - AND I have rail to hold onto.

Hope the Aussies have a nice day. Time for Brits to say goodnight - keep warm and cosy. Diane - that means YOU!!! Time for BED!!! Pleasant dreams to all.

Goodbye Berona

A wheelie bin on either side of your tread mill and I would use it myself :0))

Have a great day

Bye Berona,
Be careful on that thing - if it throws you off at speed, make sure you're facing the window, and get propelled in the direction of the harbour, so at least you have a chance to swim for it..........

Bye Tec

You are all right in what you have said and I said the same thing to my son after I got off the phone last night with my dad, at least now they all have my contact detail's and if anything should happen then they will know who to contact and how to get hold of me in a emergency. The police said I had done the right thing and so did social services. Even though my dad cancelled the Dr they are now aware of my concern's and hopefully if they see any sign's of detereation in my dad's memory they can monitor him. He is as I would say ( of the old school ) and won't admit he need's help, even though when he ring's me sometime's that is what he seem's to suggest he want's, can't win can I lol.

Diane

p.s my dad gave me his neighbour's phone number to call them if I was worried about him and was unabled to get an answer when I ring him.

Hello.....me again.

Thank you all for your messages. I have sent them to Ali. I don't want to ring as I think she should have all her time with her family......and don't really want to say goodbye to her over the phone, if you know what I mean.

I really should come back here...it seems much nicer than when I last visited.

I'm on FTF most days for a look in but more often on Genealogists' Forum. My name on both those is HarrysMum.

Libby.

Hello Elizabeth/Libby:-)

I'm Carole (Carole in Oz) on FTF, I have never posted on there, but Ive seen your posts a few times as Harrysmum. Welcome to our thread:-)) Its a bit like the Wattler's thread on FTF, we all get on very well!! (on this thread) cant say the same for some of the other threads.

Thank-you for letting us all know about Ali, she is one very special lady - an incredibly beautiful one!!!!I'm so so sorry to hear the sad news, my heart goes out to her boys and her husband. (((((((((loving hugs)))))))))))

Hello All:-))

Diane...I agree with everyone, you did the right thing in regards to your Dad. I would have done the same!!! I'm really going to miss your posts when you go:-((
Please stay in contact with us when you can:-))

Allan...you have been in fine fettle, I'm thinking about Linda chasing you around with her rolling pin, what a comical picture that would be:-))

Tec...You are a gem, so wise:-)) You remind me of my FIL, he always said the right thing...I miss him heaps - he was like a second dad to me, I could talk to him about anything, he always knew what to say and when not to say, (if you know what I mean) :-))))

Linda..Glad you are felling better:-)) Give Allan heaps!!!

Sue...Ive sent that book back to you, thanks again - lovely lady:-))

Elizabeth, I know that you have already passed on our kind thoughts and wishes to Ali, but please let her family know that we are thinking of her.

She is so proud of them

Carole,

I have a picture in my mind's eye of Linda chasing me waving a rolling pin, me running around hitching up my Maid's skirt, and the theme tune for Benny Hill playing in the background!! :0))

Allan (always misunderstood :0(( )

Carolee Report 19 Feb 2010 09:05

Allan...

Now that is funny, thank-you:-)) How do you always know when I need a laugh??

Carole:-)

Berona

Berona Report 19 Feb 2010 09:14

Yakety Sacks is the name of the tune. I've always thought it was a great banjo piece. Now, I don't think I will ever hear it again without thinking of the maid with the hairy legs being chased by Linda!

Carolee Report 19 Feb 2010 09:20

Hello Berona...

Yakety sacks? Ive never heard of it, is that what the music to Benny Hill is called?

Carole:-)) xx

Berona

Berona Report 19 Feb 2010 09:33

Yes Carole, that's the name of it. I met a disabled man who could play it just as well as the Benny Hill theme was played and he told me the name of it.
I just googled to see if I got it right and there are a few items about its origin.

Hello Barbra:-)
I hope you are well, how is beautiful Scotland?

Berona..I used to watch that show when I was younger, my dad loved it. I can still remember the music to it, I didn't know what it was called.
They say you learn something new every day!!!

Yes Barbara, it has been a privilege to 'know' Alison. She has had such a beautiful outlook - always hopeful that things would get better - whilst still able to tell us what was happening, whether good news or bad, and in between, she has always managed to joke with us.

I think most of us have had enough experience to understand what was happening, and what could happen. We could understand the worry she has had about her family and we all felt so much for her when she has suffered pain and couldn't eat. It all seems so unfair, doesn't it?
