Berona,

I can also imgine that, but I'm also sure that Tec would be able to carry those things out with such grace and elegance that it would make everyone else seem out of place!

I am off now, sorry I haven't been around much, I had just started to post when the phone rang. Still it was nice to have a long natter with my sister.

Tec, please entertain Berona nicely for the rest of the evening and don't let Allan tell any of his rude jokes on here.

Prunes, Berona??

Oh! Sorry!

I just re-read your posts

Prudes!!

No I know that all on here are not prudish, but I would hate to post anything that a 'lurker' may take offence at and get the thread deleted.

With my other Threads, that is not an issue :0))

Berona,

I hate having to follow the pack, and always having to conform to what is expected. If you want to attend a posh wedding in a safari suit, why not?
so long as you conduct yourself with dignity and politeness, what does it matter what you're wearing?

When I first came to live here, I always dressed smartly, as I always had, not in a suit obviously, but smart casual. Every time I met someone in the village, they would say "Going somewhere nice" They were not accustomed to seeing smart people aboit the place.
Now I live in jeans and jumpers mostly.
I never owned a pair of jeans 'till I came here, and I've never had a pair of trainers in my life.

Ah! but Tec - you had good training. Nothing smarter than a ship's officer in uniform!

Good Evening CC,

Of course the sheep wear wool suits - have you ever seen a sheep in a polyester suit?

When I was at sea you had to look immaculate all the time, complete change of uniform three times a day in the tropics, and twice a day in cool waters. Consequently when you went ashore or went home you just carried on being tidy - it becomes a habit.
I often had clothes and shoes custom made in the Far East, at very little cost - so could afford to be smart all the time.

Well, I'm leaving you all. Got some work to do and need to go out soon, so will talk later. Brits - keep warm and sleep well - Aussies (well, Allan, anyway, doesn't seem to be anyone else here) - enjoy your day.

Berona,
That uniform works wonders on the ladies - they only seem to see the uniform, don't care what's inside it LOL,
Not that I ever took advantage of that of course.

Hi CC again,

My daughter lived in North Finchley for years, and worked in Camden, she always dressed down and said it was dodgy to go about in some areas "dressed up" as you could be targeted by muggers, as it was she had her handbag snatched on the underground one morning.

I used to get lightweight suits, shirts and shoes made to measure in Hong Kong and Singapore.
You could get measured for a suit before 12 o'clock, and pick it up at 5 pm.
Shirts were always monogrammed.

I like that squirrel

Enjoy your day Allan,
Sleep well CC, and keep warm.

Sue - Hope you got on ok at the docs, and that you feel better soon.
Diane, If you look in, hope you are well - where have you gone?

Goodnight

I found this Thread wandering aimlessly at the bottom of page one.

I've given it a good talking to, and also directions on how to reach its proper home at the top of the Board

CC,

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I know that my 'humour' can be a bit near the knuckle sometimes, but I have already posted on here that if any one is offended by anything I have posted, just pm me and I will delete with a full apology!

This Thread has been going since July last year and I would be totally gutted if I posted anything to have it deleted.
