Carole

I read the earlier posts between Berona and yourself.

I have osteo in both thumbs and it is not just painful its annoying, like a nagging toothache.

OH has it in her knees and ankles. Some days are good and some, particularly before rain, are worse!

Allan.. OH's pain is constant, and the swelling is making it worse.
The medication that the doc gave him is very strong and he can only take it for a couple of days, it really upsets his system?

Well I must go and have a shower.

I am reluctantly going out this evening.

I would rather not but cannot avoid it.

Hopefully I may catch you tomorrow morning, Carole

Take care of the patients, but don't let you patience wear thin :0))

Regards

I am just running through the thread as I am bogged down in the real world, not literally before Allan starts making wise cracks.

I looked at the site you gave me Carole, but I haven't had time to do anything with it. I am up to my ears in admin for mum's estate (sounds grand lol) again. That should settle down in a couple of days, so I can look at that branch of my tree again. The only thing I had time to do last night was to look at some 1911 censuses on a different twig, but that was only because I am helping a distant rellie out

I hope your OH gets sorted soon Carole, it sounds painful for the poor man and of course if he is in ill, that means more stress for you.

Time for some fresh air I think before my head explodes.

Hi everyone - it has now just gone Midnight so is Thursday - so am thinking of you Alison - keep smiling.

My genes site kicked me off after I got back from shopping and said that I had signed off - all lies - and then I was on Berona's dating site - do I treat this with gay abandon and come out of the closet? Dutifully ignored, then we changed our security and then yesterday it was back to the computer shop as we could not get outlook. Finally everything downloaded today but the new antispam even said it's own blurb was "probable spam."

But I am back prepared to keep vigilance on Evadne and Hilda and not shirk my duties.

Christmas is coming according to our shopping malls etc so:

Now Sticky Beak the kiwi, that bird from way down under
He's caused a great commotion and it isn't any wonder
He's notified old Santa Claus to notify the deer
That he will pull the Christmas sleigh in the southern hemisphere.

Chorus:
Lots of toys for girls and boys load the christmas sleigh
He will take the starlight trail along the milky way.
Hear the laughing children as they shout aloud with glee:
'Sticky Beak, Sticky Beak, be sure to call on me.'

Now every little kiwi, and every kangaroo, too,
The wallaby, the weka, and the platypus and emu,
Have made themselves a Christmas tree with stars and shining bright,
So Sticky Beak will see the way to guide the sleigh tonight.

Now Sticky Beak the kiwi, that Maori-land dictator,
Will not allow Rudolph's nose this side of the equator
So when you hear the sleighbells ring you'll know that he's the boss,
And Sticky Beak will pull the sleigh beneath the Southern Cross.

Carloe, I have had a look at that site, but unfortunately I don't think that the parishes I need are there.
I would kill for the transcripts for St Paul's at Shepley. I will have to go to the records office again.

If they are of any help, I have the booklets for

St John's Denby burials 1851-1940
St Augustine Scisset 1849-1891
St John's Denby baptisms 1851-1929
St Nicholas Cumberworth burials 1708-1968
Cumberworth St Nicholas & Denby Dale Holy Trinity baptisms 1664-1938, marriages 1664-1837

Out of area All Saints Otley baptisms 1851-1865

I think that there is a cd for the Kirkburton parish,This was a huge parish and was the mother church for the later churches in the area I need, so I think tha tI am going to bite the bullet and order it.

Hi Everyone,

The Duchess just remarked that the dining room is looking "tired"
Those of the male gender will recognise this not merely an observation, more of a subtle instruction to get the paintbrushes and ladders out. Oh woe is me - didn't see that coming!

Carole, Sorry to hear your guys are still unwell. Must be worse to be take in the excessive heat you are having. Hope they improve very soon. I expect my cousin has melted into a blob on the pavement somewhere in Melbourne, she will feel the difference when she gets back here.

Perse, Love the poem/carol, made me laugh. Because we are in a very rural area we don't have the commercial razz m tazz of Christmas pushed in our faces for weeks before, that is a blessing.
Out of Allan and myself, I am interested to know who is Hinge, and who is Bracket? I do have a piano, but you wouldn't want me play you a Moonlight Sonata...............

Linda, How is your head? I do hope it didn't explode, can't be doing with all that mess, anyway I hope you ploughed through some of the work without going cross eyed. You will get to the end soon.

Alison, We will all be thinking of you today when you see the Big Man. I hope so much that he can do something to help you. Love and hugs to you.

I went for a really long walk Tec, so saved my head.

Well how was the bread? I have just taken a nicely risen granary loaf out.

Anyway what are you doing here? You should be sanding back the paintwork by now

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Nov 2009 19:22

Actually........I too have a devious side,
So I might just get away with not decorating the dining room.
I do have one or two unfinished little jobs here - so if I say I really should finish them first before starting anything else, herself will readily agree to this, as she is always banging on about me finishing something.
Then if I really take my time over the unfinished jobs, and stretch it out, it will be about two weeks to Christmas. She definitely won't want me messing about with paint and stuff so near to the holiday.

Problem solved.........clever old me.......Sorted...........

I didn't get around to making the bread - AGAIN - no time. Will not bore you with the details, just accept - no time, maybe tomorrow.
Pleased your head is intact Linda - you may need it to keep up with the errant two.

Tec.

Slavery has been abolished - and good job too.

Hi Pat... What kind of day did you have?
I have no aspirations to become a baker, I only want to turn out two edible litle loaves a week. Just wait 'tll I do get going..........

I've been doing some work on my tree.
