Berona Report 5 Dec 2009 21:49

My goodness - you people are so lucky that you have only seen Wizard of Oz once or twice. We get it thrust upon us about this time every year!! It must come cheap for the TV chanels to rent - or they all have their own copies! I saw it as a child (in the cinema); my children grew up with in on TV and now the grandchildren are getting it!

Is it tree time again? We are not having Christmas here at my place this year so I really can't be bothered putting it up, but if the kids come, they will do it and put every decoration they can find on it - then they go away after Christmas - and I'm left with the task of taking it all down and putting it away! I sound grouchy, don't I?

Allan Report 5 Dec 2009 21:56

Tec, I'm glad you had words with her GP. I go twice a year for a review with the practice Nurse and my GP. Also full blood tests twice a years as well as the self testing.

Berona, we are becoming the same with Christmas. Sometimes feel that it is not worth bothering with, so if you are becoming grouchy, you are not alone!

Hello everybody. I'm on later than usual as I slept in. I don't feel very well this morning. I have a headache, sore throat and an earache..."sigh". I need sympathy. OH is making me toast and tea but I think the toast will hurt my throat....."sigh". I think I'll go back to bed....."another sigh".

Sue xx

Edit - Sorry Tec - I'm glad you have had words with the GP. Hopefully something will be done to make the Duchess feel a lot healthier.

Edit again - I feel grouchy about Christmas too.

Tecwyn Report 5 Dec 2009 22:02

Berona, You could never be grouchy.
You must put your tree up - in fact, I think you should play the Christmas Fairy to your family this year. Plenty of time to make the outfit, yards and yards of net and chiffon for a skirt, a sparkly top with lots of glitter, a wand, and a halo suspended over your head. Your family will love it.

I have a mental picture of you in my head - go on - surprise them!

Oh Sue - Honeybun, You are in a bad way - however did you get that bug.
You need lots of tea and sympathy - toast is no good, you want something that goes down easy - ice cream.
Sending you lots of Welsh tender hugs, go back to bed, and be spoilt for the rest of the day.
I would buy you flowers and grapes.

Wishing you better very soon :))

Actually I am taking your sore throat very seriously Sue, toast with lots of butter and honey so it is almost soggy and it will slide down the throat beautifully. Course you will get sticky sheets and jimjams but it is in the interests of Health and Safety.

Failing that gargle with Betadin - it works wonders on a sore throat - gave a bottle to a friend of mine and her dogs were very quizical as to what she was up to gargling, they hadn't seen that performance before.

I'm not a fraud Allan...I'm not "stamps foot". I'm just doing what all women do - soldier on regardless of how they feel.

Thanks Diane - a hug is what I need:-((

Edit - thanks Persey....Allan is being mean.

Berona Report 5 Dec 2009 22:25

Surprise them? They wouldn't recognise me! (or they would think that I had gone senile!).

Sue - Take care. Hope your sore throat doesn't lead to anything nastier.

Hello Diane

Bit rude of me not to acknowledge you. You really need to pamper yourself when you have this lying down lots of sleep holiday of yours.

Bill Bryson was in Liverpool and was talking with Alexi Sayle and Alexi was telling him about a jewellery shop where he went to buy a chain with a cross on it and the girl behind the counter said to him do you want just a cross or a cross with the little man on it?

OH re-stained the front verandah on Friday so today we'll be putting the furniture and plants back. Yesterday when we were babysitting we took turns to go to a garage sale a couple of doors down from daughter's house. I bought a lovely pottery jug - decorated terracotta for next to nothing. It will look very nice on my new old cane table. I also bought a metal bird sculpture on a wooden stand. It's quite ugly in a way but very stylish and I took a liking to it. It was so cheap I had to buy it and surprisingly OH quite liked it too. He bought a very fancy wine bottle opener so he did very well too.

I'm off to start the day. Hope you all have a great day/evening. Love to all.

I agree - I always would laugh at Alf Garnet - saying you scouse git.

I worked with a woman from Liverpool and I used to say that to her when we were acting the goat. She is the one that went to school with Kenneth Cope.
We have just had the Coro episodes where he has come back to the series. Soon as I saw him - I said to OH oh Jed Stone is back and he didn't cotton on to what I was talking about for a couple of weeks.
It will take us awhile before we get up to Blanche leaving the series.

Cheers

Hello Diane,
All that sleep is getting you ready for your week off, so that you'll be in a fit state to enjoy it more. I expect the pain you are having is very wearing, and you need all the sleep you can get. Perishing weather doesn't help you does it.

Scouse humour? I love it
