'bye Linda. I can't say 'enjoy yourself' but I do hope you enjoy the drive there and back.

I am leaving you too. You have all shamed me into writing on my cards - writing letters, putting in envelopes and putting stamps on them.......grrrrrr.
Talk to you later.

Enjoy your evening, Linda. My sore throat and earache didn't come to much although the headache has lingered. I'm putting it down to the unsettled weather - we're going from cool to warm and now unpleasantly hot and sticky.

Bye Berona. I too am off for the day. I have the house to myself for a few hours so I'll wash floors. Love to you all.

Hi all seem to come on here and chat away to myself of an afternoon when no one is around.
Sorry I did not get to wave good bye to you Linda - hope you have a good drive down and back and your sore throat that you caught from Sue has managed to be just a tickle.

Berona - yes OH explained what TAFE was he is full of profound information whilst I am the mistress of trivia. (ssh Allan)

A man was supposed to be here to install our new oven and hob this morning at 10am.nothing happened by 11am, so, we contacted the Kitchen Appliance shop and they gave us the installer's number - the boss there thought worker was with us but then the office girl said she could not get hold of said worker and now we think he has been in an accident. We now have oven out on floor, can't pull it right out because of wiring. Last night I dismantled all the rungs etc and pulled off the door and I gave it such a yank I broke the handle. Good thing I didn't do that the other day when I was cleaning it.

I will try and pop in in the morning if I don't Hi and Bi all.

Has Danielle been back? I did read all the pages but now and again you miss something and find yourself going off on a tangent.

Berona Report 8 Dec 2009 04:10

Hello Perse - hope you get your stove installed and that the worker is OK. Maybe he just nicked off to do something and thought his boss wouldn't know about it.....No, haven't seen Danielle again yet.

Alison. Haven't heard from you for a while. I do hope everything is going all right for you. Let us know how you are when you feel up to it, won't you? In the meantime, stay beautiful!

Alison - I'm missing you too. Hope all is well. If you're looking in we're all thinking of you and hoping things are ok for you.

Hi to everyone else who is looking in.

Alison Report 8 Dec 2009 08:11

Hi All,

We arrived safely at my sister's. Left home at about 8.15am and got to her place at about 3.30pm. Had a pretty good trip.

I saw the radiation oncologist today. I am starting radiation on Thursday. It will be 10 treatments - groan. Plus, I can expect more nausea - double groan. I worked out my last treatment should be on the 24th Dec, so probably won't feel like a nice Christmas Lunch. The doctor reckons I should be able to enjoy a baked dinner again, when it's all over. I certainly hope so.

A friend is going to ask the Father at her Church if they can do something to Pray to Sister Mary McKillop for another miracle for me. Made me cry, that did!

Hope you're all good. I've been reading and seeing what you're up to. Thank you Barbra for the PM's.

Got an old school buddy coming to visit from Brisbane tomorrow, so really looking forward to that.

Stay Really Attractive Inside and Out. !

Allan Report 8 Dec 2009 08:22

Alison, what can I say that doesn't sound cloying or overly sentimental

Forget the season, harder said than done with family around, but perhaps inwardly...and then when you have recovered from the radiation just cut loose and enjoy the moment and treat every day as Christmas Day.

Your whole attitude is so inspiring!

My thoughts, as I am sure the thoughts of all regular posters, will be with you.

I'd say God Bless but I think that He already has :0))

Berona Report 8 Dec 2009 09:20

Hi Alison. Good to hear from you and to know what's happening. Sounds like your Oncologist has a positive outlook. Of course, the idea of facing nausea sucks, doesn't it? - but don't let it get you down. Just think of that last treatment - 24th December and it will be finished!!!! Hey, even if you don't feel like eating on Christmas day, the treatment will be FINISHED and that should make up for it all. Then, once you do feel like eating - you can enjoy it. Thinking of you all the time.

SueMaid Report 8 Dec 2009 10:08

Hi, Alison - as Allan said you are an inspiring lady. 10 treatments and then that's it. I'm sorry to say that we will be with you all the way. Yep even if you feel nauseous and tired and just want to be on your own. We'll still be there encouraging you and sending positive thoughts and love.

We were supposed to have a hot and windy day today. It was very warm but no wind. Then about 5 in the afternoon it became dark and overcast. It cooled down and there was a light breeze. We then had about 6 drops of rain, a clap of thunder and that was it.

I'm happy to say that I have almost completed my Christmas shopping. I haven't written out my Chrissy cards yet.. Tomorrow we go to our grandchildren's Christmas party at nursery. The older one will then have a little graduation ceremony as he goes to school next year. Oh how the years go by. I remember holding him when he was barely an hour old. I also remember his mum's first day at school......"sigh".

Goodafternoon/ morning all
Not been able to post for 2dys as I had no internet connection,
Alison, good to hear you arrived safely and your treatment is soon to start, as other's have said 24th and it will be over and then you can start thinking of what will be your first good meal for a while, probably a Christmas Special, not sure if that is a roast for you or some other traditional meal. Take care of yourself and stay beautiful hun.

Linda, hope you have a safe journey to the funeral and a safe one back and yes hun you will be missed.

Sue I hope you enjoyed the time spent with your grandchildren, and also that your sore throat only turned out to be a minor ailment and not anything more serious.

Tec glad that OH is keeping well and that you haven't had to bail out into a boat lol.

Hi to Berona, Allan, Perse, Janet, Carole, Colin if your still around hun, and Danielle if you look in again, hope you are all well and not getting Sunburnt ( if your in a hot part of the World ) or not to cold if like me you are in this part of the world.

Can't wait until this time next week, it will be my first day off lol.

Hope to speak to you all later if I don't lose internet connection, but if not will be back when I can

Well morning all, sorry I missed you Alison - All the best wth the treatments I could not think of a better Christmas Present for you then to be rid of the nausea and the return of your appetite. My family will all toast you at Christmas wishing you good health, happiness and all the love and hugs we can send. Do not think of them as 10 treatments but as 10 higgledly piggedlys - and then before you know it you will be up and at em!!! With you all the way.

Persephone Report 8 Dec 2009 20:42

Or none of the above.

At the moment their are two lovely young men in my kitchen installing the new stove. Their boss said he would ring us at 8am to tell us if and when installer would be coming. Phone went at 7.15am and whilst I was thinking of getting out of bed had not done so. Phone is on his side of bed so he took call and all I heard was oh ok goodoh that will give us time to shower etc. Then tells me they will be here in 1/2 an hour. So it was all rush rush, showered etc and they turned up just after I had removed our car from driveway.
One of them did have a mishap yesterday Berona but he is okay.

How are you feeling Diane? - I have done my overseas Christmas mail but am not in the mood for the local stuff. Majority of us will e-mail each other - that will save having to worry about cards blowing over when doors etc are opened.

Good morning lovely ladies - oh and everyone else:-))

Just heard on the news that someone in Western Australia has just bought a darn big house for 50 million dollars. So if that's you Allan we all expect an invite:-)

Today is our wedding anniversary - 37 years and still going strong. When I think I was only 19 when we married so I've been married almost twice as long as I've been single:-))

Diane - my sore throat came to nothing. Just felt a bit off colour for awhile.

Today is overcast and quite cool. Off to the children's Chrissy party at nursery. We are able to take photos so that's something to put in their scrapbooks. They love looking at their books and I've made a big effort to make sure that the twins are treated as two very special people and not just a twin.

I won't be on for long this morning so hopefully will catch you all before I log off. If not enjoy your day/evening:-))

Good morning/evening everyone. I'm finally here. I actually switched on at 6:30, but after two re-boots and endless waiting - I arrived on Genes at 8:05 - so you can imagine that my mood now in no way reflects the mood I was in at 6:30!!!!

Still haven't finished writing cards or wrapping - but it's a nice day, so do you blame me for wanting to go for a drive? If I was properly organised, the cards would be ready to mail while I was out - but I'm not that well organised.
