We mainly get people from the West Midlands here, Wolverhampton to Birmingham areas. Also European tourists, Dutch ,French, German, have seen Japanese, and occassionally Americans, but not so many of them in last few years.
Yes Diane, if you venture over the border, don't forget passport, we could arrange a meet.
You'll think you've been to an undiscovered land

Well, I'm off to my bed now, it's a cold wet windy night, so I'm going to disappear under the duvet.

Goodnight Linda and Diane,

We used to get loads of Japanese tourists here as well Tec, but they have stopped coming. we get zillions of Aussies, loads of Canadians for some reason, plus Americans and lots of Dutch because they come over on the ferries to Hull

I am just going to bed and very late I am too, sorry I didn't get back in here this morning to say adieu adieu to you and you and you.

So I am doing late good byes and early hellos as I am off out in morning for my three montly check up. I generally walk - it is about 3/4 hour away but as I have got a list of to do's I may drive.

Thank you Linda you are a true ally in assisting me with my procratination with the nets. If people passing by peer I think they may see the grandies opening their presents. Course we could leave the drapes shut and have the lights on.

And if Janet pops in I was wondering what TAFE stood for and lo and behold we drove past one the other day near our New Market - It used to be a sports/gym place and my daughter played Badminton there. Now it is a TAFE,,, of course smart ar*e OH knew and started telling me all about how Aussie has them etc but he was not aware that we have one as well.

Anyways goodnight from me as it is nearly one am and better not look tired out when I get to the doctors or she might give me a tonic or something ghastly to take.

Good morning Perse - you have made me ashamed and I am going to ring for an appointment this morning to have my annual blood test. I just hate the idea of having to go out early without having had breakfast!

p.s. Did OH tell you what TAFE stands for? Technical And Further Education. They are all over the place here - one per few suburbs - and most courses are free.

Good morning/evening friends. Hope all is well.

Yesterday (Sunday) I spent the afternoon on the Ancestry site doing family research. I found so much information my mind was spinning by the end of the afternoon - 5 hours on the computer will do that to anyone:-)) I'm also happy to say that this has also helped a distant cousin. He hasn't got Ancestry but has sent me photos, certificates and numerous family stories. OH's paternal grandfather was estranged from his family and I find it sad that this family was obviously close and spent a lot of leisure time together. My father in law missed out on so much of this is in his childhood and there are whole families he apparently knew nothing about.

I would love to spend more time on Ancestry today but I have quite a lot to do and must spend some time in the office at the hospital today:-( I then have to spend this week doing some Christmas shopping. Easy these days as I just ask the family what gift vouchers they would like and buy them. Of course the grandkids want parcels to open but our daughter helps us decide what to give the children. On Friday we are going to see the Wiggles in concert with the grandkids as a Christmas treat and then lunch afterwards. I know I'll spend the whole time watching their little faces. The older one has been before and loved it but it's the first time for the twins. I also want to find the time to take the older grandson to the movies to see "Where the Wild Ones Live". It was a favourite book of my children and now my grandchildren love it. Our grandson (nearly 6) in Hobart went to see the movie on the weekend and he rang me to tell me all about it. He told me I had to take his cousin but to leave the twins at home because they would be "so scared".

Hello, Allan. It's been beautiful through last week but getting hotter again. 29 degs. yesterday and 30+ today. I need to be out and about today too so not looking forward to it. Thank goodness for an air-conditioned car and office.

Good morning, Sue

Air-con is ok but sooner or later you have to venture out!

I don't mind a dry heat like we had on the Goldfields but the humidity on the coast is a killer!

Allan

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Dec 2009 21:35

That's why I'm going out early Allan - I'll try to beat the heat. I hate the humidity. Five minutes after having a shower you feel you need another one. We found it much easier to cope with the heat when we were west of the escarpment. You just stay out of the heat during the hottest hours but here you can't escape the humidity.

Good morning Sue and Allan. We expect high 30's to-day. It was 37 here yesterday, so the aircon will probably be switched on around lunch time.

Good morning Berona

Sue , with remodelling the Garden we usually work on it between seven and nine in the morning as it is still cool.

OH can stand the heat more than I can but even she finds that anything overlow 30's is too much

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

Well I've written half the Christmas cards, so now have a sore finger from holding the pen. Will cost a small fortune to post.

I am looking forward to being on Ancestry - it's the details I'm looking for, like discovering that my Gt Grandfather who was born into a farming family, went to live on a neighbouring farm from at least age ten, in 1862 .That farm was owned by his aunt and her husband. They never had children, and Gt Grandfather remained with them until he married. He inherited the farm when they died

I hope you are feeling better today Sue, especially as you will be so busy.

Good Morning Berona, and Allan

Good evening Tec - hope you have had a good day.

I am awaiting deliveries. I've already had one book delivered at 8am - waited three weeks for it - scared to go out - but this time, the courier brought it to my door - and dropped it on the mat. Still didn't bother to ring the bell, but the door is open, so I heard him. Is it really so hard to press a button?

Now, I'm waiting for this first delivery of groceries. I just hope the delivery vehicle is air conditioned or refrigerated!

Hello Berona, Allan,

Berona it's a great effort to press a doorbell, especially if it's not actually written into your job description - and agreed by the union - and the Minister of State for Delivery Mens Rights and Well Being.

Allan, The Duchess has had a good day, with no hypos. She will see the GP again in the morning - he woke up after I put a rocket under him.
